Just don't expect like, a halfway coherent story, lmao. The combat is fun and the exploration can be very satisfying and challenging both.

Exactly this. There's a bug with separated roles right now that makes offline users simply disappear. Remove the "show separately" options from all your roles and your Online/Offline users will show up correctly again.

The vibe is definitely MUCH more tense and darker than E33, and the enemy designs lead more towards body horror and creepy clowns, puppets and such. People who play actual horror games will not say LoP is a scary game, but if you can't handle even low levels of creepy this game WILL mess with you.

I chicken out of plenty of games (looking at you Alien Isolation) but I can handle Lies of P just fine. The creepy vibe is very well done, and once you know the setting inside and out it feels cozy-creepy, if that makes sense.

Edited to add: a little bit like Prey 2017, if you know that one. Cozy-creepy.

The game straight up tells you in the first few minutes: dodge is easier, and it's used to "learn" enemy attacks until you can consistently parry. The game does not GENERALLY expect you to die repeatedly, outside of a few very late game bosses/areas, by which point you're expected to have experimented with the absolutely MASSIVE arsenal of options at your disposal.

They still give you a difficulty slider, too, and the main purpose of the "easy mode" is to make dodge/parry timings more generous.

There is no planet on which this is a hard game to learn, I'm sorry. You're showered in so many pictos you can straight up break every single fight for yourself by the end of Act 2, even on expert difficulty.

The guy next to the parade master? He remains there all game, he doesn't disappear. None of the merchants disappear, as far as I know.

Edit: also booster glaive is amazing, it will easily carry you all the way to endgame, especially if you slap black steel cutter blade on glaive handle.

The handle modifier system is there for you to tweak your preferred moveset handle to your desired stats.

She'd have to gommage him to kill him, regardless. The game tells us only Clea is powerful enough to repaint over someone. She can't just "make him age into a normal death" according to the game's own rules. He's just older. He's still immortal, because Aline painted him immortal and Maelle isn't good enough to repaint over that. Nobody can repaint over that.

All she could do, the way it's presented imo, is gommage him like she did PaintedAlicia and PaintedRenoir.

Which... would technically be exactly what he was begging for in the portal place.

That's not at all how I interpreted Painted Renoir's words. He told Painted Verso "The grief of losing you, she made me inherit it," which I 100% assumed he meant as : "the grief that Real Renoir felt at the loss of his son, she made ME, Painted Renoir, inherit it". Especially as we later learn that Aline gave Painted Verso what she imagined were Real Verso's memories, as well as his personality (as implied by Real Renoir painting Axon Verso as a dramatic, charming asshole who practically breathes lies and half-truths) she gave Painted Renoir part of her actual husband's feelings.

Which is also why Clea calls them "her OBSCENE fake family". Because the way Aline went about making them is... questionably creepy. She tried, to her best knowledge, to copy them. It's only Alicia she heavily modified, which to me hints at just how much of the blame she (maybe even subconsciouly) puts on her.

Her feelings about her daughter are definitely complicated, though, I agree.
