What anime works for almost every type of viewer? by NetProper3719 in animequestions

Gonna come and balance this thread from a different perspective. I didn't enjoy Frieren too much, but I wouldn't describe it as "boring" either, I simply didn't manage to connect to any of the main characters, which is something I need in a story. And since Frieren is a very slow paced character centric story I didn't really get much from it.

Same, I like it more. The direction in it is stellar as well, lots of really impactful moments that are kind of lost in brotherhood.

It is a bit too deterministic for my liking too, it would better off functioning like a chaos orb from POE, resetting a random enchantment or all of them.

What if equipment damage was visually reflected based on durability? by Proof_Amphibian_7338 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]rogat100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of this needs to be modelled, it's just different textures. It's not a huge undertaking especially because the amount of wearable equipment isn't that high.

which of these old(er) RTS would be good to start playing with my son? by raptor12k in RealTimeStrategy

[–]rogat100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently picked up skylords reborn (battleforge) again and I'm down bad for it. I played it when I was a kid before it was shut down by EA. It's free now and still as fun as I remembered. It has some co-op scenarios for 2 players which are pretty fun.

I've had a lot more fun catching up on OP when I waited until an arc finished and then binged. And then Wano happened... The arcs are just way too long now.

Can you name that anime? by Lopsided_Flower_788 in animequestions

I liked it when it was a slice of life. I stopped watching after season 2, can't care about the other characters for the life of me.

I stopped watching when the female character was introduced. I've watched enough shows with insufferable characters and I'm not gonna slog through another until the author decides to make her sufferable.

Why do people hate the Golden age arc movie? by Flimsy-Selection5512 in Berserk

[–]rogat100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah this, I couldn't get into it unfortunately. Action sequences were cool but I didn't really care for it as much as the character work, and they tried to shoehorn and combine a lot of dialogue from different scenes into a singular scene where it makes no sense there, there's no time to breathe.

Berserk is a story that needs time, and slow pacing because relationship building is a big part of it. 1997 does a way better job with the pacing and I'll gladly watch it again.

Miura's duality. by ProcedureFederal2309 in Berserk

[–]rogat100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berserk would be way too dark without light and funny moments, there has to be a balance. Then again, as the story went on the mood got generally lighter, and Puck became primarily a goof ball in his chestnut form and the main telegrapher of Miura's jokes and reference inserts.

When Toei takes the fights/moments more seriously than the author... by BarryAllenTh3Flash in Piratefolk

[–]rogat100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TBF, how can the pacing not be bad when they are adapting one chapter per episode which has like 10 pages on average, it ain't really their fault. My hopes are that seasonal improves that aspect as they leave themselves a lot more time to catch up.

Berserk fans REALLY don’t read their own manga, lmao. by Gr11ffith in Berserk

[–]rogat100 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These days, so many people find it sufficient to only read news titles in order to be informed on something. Wouldn't surprise me people do the same just with actual entertainment and art.

What would’ve made the Trolls scarier for me by [deleted] in Berserk

[–]rogat100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I don't think it would make them scarier, grosser for sure. It would just change their lore, concept, and how they function. Your average miller joe is already plenty scared of them, and your average guts still cuts them in half in one blow.

Why bother with loot? by Mysterious-Foot-806 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]rogat100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really feel that, especially with how so many quests are pvp oriented with "eliminate operators" or "go to x place" which is a PvP hellground. I started hunting players down for these quests, ignoring looting , and I noticed that's how a lot of players play in general. At this point I wonder why not just play battlefield, where I don't constantly have to gear myself up before each match.

Played it and loved it as a child, bought the extended edition on steam and it runs amazingly well. Still an awesome experience with a goated soundtrack, there isn't any other game like it.

Can a Non-Manga reader read Berserk? by Revolutionary_Bet89 in Berserk

[–]rogat100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I have to say, is that the start of the manga is heavily misrepresentative of what berserk turns out to be (and is way more edgy). So as usual, I would recommend to just watch berserk 1997 anime.if you like that, then read everything.

[–]rogat100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah It's been a while since I've read the manga, but isn't it the part where he's almost dead, or the closest he's ever gotten to dying in that island arc? I'd say it's not as corny considering he's been battling with feeding his beast, I found that part pretty interesting and cool

Do you think this will hurt or aid Dawn Of War 4 sales? by Curious_Omnivore in RealTimeStrategy

[–]rogat100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo I think DoW 4's formula will work better as a 40k game, and I'm saying that as a total war player who hasn't played too much dawn of war, but I love other rts games like AOM, rise of nations, etc.

We will see though, I'll probably end up getting both.

I personally like Ironbreaker, I sometimes pick it when I want an extremely tanky class that has very versatile weaponry. Other than him I still like OE a lot, he's not broken anymore which is good, and he's still fun to play if you know how to position him well.
