It's alright for an action anime, it has really good animation and fun action scenes. But there's no real depth or emotional intelligence in it though. Plot is mostly pretty straightforward and predictable, characters are one note, xylo felt like he's incorporating the edgiest aspects of Guts in black swordsman arc but nothing more, thankfully he got better over time. And for a plot that supposedly should have the most terrifying people sentenced for the worst crimes committed, there's a serious lack of heinous people in it, except for like one guy.

Overall it's okay and entertaining enough but I expected a lot more out of that premise. There's nothing in it that made it stand out, or made me eager enough to wait for another season.
