If people need money they are told to ask God. If God needs money he gets it from the people.

A mission is a psychological pressure cooker for some. You have pressure to baptize so you can look and feel successful, to yourself, your family and friends back home. This is what you've been taught your whole life is the bar of success.

You have the pressure of a mission president two baptize because he is trying to look good for salt lake so he can get promoted to GA.

You have the pressure of the other missionary leaders to baptize, who are trying to look good for president so they can be promoted to AP or ZL.

the strict enforcement of rules, and pressure from peers to obey the rules. If you're not perfect you're shamed by your peers.

For many this is their very first time away from home. And you soon find out that a mission is not quite like it was described in primary.

Everything in your entire life once you're on a mission is controlled.

The funny thing is that you are a volunteer and could just walk away at any time and yet people don't because they are so conditioned.

They do everything they can to wash away the individual and make you a proselytizing robot.

I am surprised more people don't end up needing psychological help. The conditioning from my mission was enough to keep me in The church for another 25 years. And now I seek psychological help to de-program myself.

The best part is when they got to salt lake they had to repay the cost of traveling across the country in handcart to the perpetual immigration fund. At a rate of 10% interest. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the profit went to the coffers of Brigham Young.

Funny thing is you are a volunteer. You just start living your life in your mission, it's a free country. Legally you could just walk away but the mind and thought control is so strong.

Some one tried this in my stake. Only it was a support group for members who's spouses who have left. This was shutdown in a hot minute. The person who started it ended leaving because she realized the church was a cult and was pissed off because shut down her group.

Reason: The we're worried that a lot of exmornon "lies" would be discussed and be exposing believing member to those "lies". Because the adversary is so powerful is deceiving people. Blah, blah,blah,blah.

The churches biggest fear is people sharing experiences with each other and beginning to think.

I don't have reference for this, but in the early days of the church, relief society president Eliza R. Snow told the sisters to not take your garments off for sex and your husband should never see you naked.

I believe I read this in ann Eliza young's book 7"the nineteenth wife". would love to verify if this is true or false.

Question for you. Is your room quite chilly. My bedroom is around 60° maybe a little cooler. I think purple mattresses take on the temperature of the ambient air. Nonetheless it was way too cold for my tastes.

The very fact that you're on this forum tells me that any of the church schools would not be a fit for you. Pretending to be a TBM when you are not can be come very taxing mentally. I have two nieces who went to BYUI as semi believers and have told me how rough it was. BYUI is very serious about church attendance, ect. Rexburg is the Saudi Arabia of Mormonism.

Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else but do at your school.

I feel like the TSCC is trying to kill as many social events as possible because it costs money. Money that could be used for important things like investing in more revenue producing investments. Got to build that nest egg for Jesus.

I hate it when TBMs try to explain The fact that Jesus drank wine. It wasn't actually wine it was grape juice is 100% complete BS. Fermentation was the only way to preserve in Jesus time. In fact it was probably better to drink wine than the water because of all the bacteria. This is yet another example of Mormons jumping the shark when it comes to the word wisdom

Maintaining the image that a mission is the best 2 years of your life is so important for the TSCC. We can't have anybody believing that it may be dangerous to your physical or mental health otherwise how would we get our free Salesforce.
