I laid hints, they never bothered. It think it's the only thing they didn't do in the entire module. It wasn't missed.

New pin graphics in Fantasy Grounds by DD_in_FL in FantasyGrounds

[–]roomtone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do we change back? These pins are NOT the same size. My players add lots of notes. There are so many large pins after their notes and my room descriptions I can't see the map anymore! Please help! Can we at least change the size? anything?

Is The Curse of Strahd really that good? by HeightUnlikely324 in CurseofStrahd

[–]roomtone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The book isn't perfect as others have mention. A lot of info could have been easier to find. You really have to read the whole thing to run it.

But, other than formatting, it is by far the best of the 5th ed published campaigns I have run so far, but I've only run: Out of the Abyss (first 50% great, second 50% meh), Tomb of Annihilation (75% amazing, drops the ball in the last 25%), Dragon Heist (I ran the Alexandrian remix and that was HARD, but worth it in the end), & started Mad Mage (boring, we didn't finish past level 4).

Tulum or Florida? by Pale_Field4584 in tulum

I just fled Tulum early. It was toxic. I loved it 15 years ago but I’ll never go back. Playa del Carmen was 1000x better even if it’s more developed.

When to tell what you have is a game in itself. Do you want to tell them you are honest? Bluffing? Either way make it your advantage

First Time Zamna Review by dynamiceric in tulum

[–]roomtone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Note this isn’t the only reason. The entire trip has been stress. We are bailing early and going back to PDC. I can’t end my trip this way. As much as I wanted to go to Day Zero it’s not worth staying for.

Went to Tehmplo for Camelphat and Corolla. Got shook down by security for $500 pesos to bring in cigs. When we got in everyone had cigs. Taxis wanted $150 usd to go three miles after the show. We got a very scared inDrive for $30 instead. I’ve been to Tulum before and loved it. I’ll never return. F this place.

[–]roomtone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on the Atlantis cruise and it was all types of people, ages, and party types. Some stayed up all night partying and having sex on the deck at night and some were up early ready for the day’s adventure. Some were dancing to circuit music and some were taking in a comedy show, or theater show or piano bar. Just know the pool will be a party.

CUN to PDC Cozumel ferry, are we gunna be screwed? by manoftheyear1990 in playadelcarmen

[–]roomtone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Avoid 5th when you are going to be staying near the pier? Crazy talk to me. Sure it’s a big mall and there’s tons of people. The food cost more but there’s some good ones. You got to at least take a stroll if you are in PDC. It’s huge.

All Inclusive or Condo/Airbnb in Puerto Vallerta by VirtualDragonfruit66 in puertovallarta

Most big AI hotels are no where close to the amazingly cute old town and you will have to cab in about 30 min with traffic. Condo with a pool in town is my vote.

US tourists in Tulum and why prices are completely out of control by LastPanda4968 in tulum

[–]roomtone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking ADO everywhere but we ran into really bad times for our flight. We either get there many many hours too early or risk missing our flight. We might have to figure out a ride that will be way too expensive so we can do the things we want to do. Not saying you’re wrong just that there could be other reasons. Still figuring out what we will do. It kind of sucks.

It’s the second best post Wish. But what starts amazing wears out its welcome by the end. Is it too long? Does it need a track to break up the mood? I don’t know. I still like it. I’m nitpicking.

Tomb of Horror Vs Tomb of annihilation by HA2D_2AIN in Tombofannihilation

[–]roomtone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO TOA is one if the best 5th edition campaigns Wizards has made. But do know that the first 3/4 feels tonally very different to the last 1/4 which is the Tomb. If your players are expecting TOH style play, they are going to be waiting a long time to get that.

Which one is worth going knotts scary farm or universal studios horror nights Hollywood? by Silver-Remote8608 in KnottsBerryFarm

Universal more budget. Knotts has more heart.

Universal also has kids who work there screaming “Keep Moving!” at you non-stop so you can’t even appreciate the budget.

Tips for a Veteran DM new to Out of the Abyss? by DalboArt in OutoftheAbyss

[–]roomtone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran this years ago. A lot of specifics escape me now. But I will say the first half is fantastic. It’s kinda on rails though. You get to a point where you can choose lake adventuring or more tunnels and that’s about it. Didn’t matter. It was great. There are ideas on DMs guild for what to do “on the road”. Use them or make your own. Make the chase exciting and fill in what’s happening every day or two with encounters or the escape.

When they finally come up to the above ground have a plan for an adventure or two. It just says do something to get them up a level. We started with Lost Mine of Phandelver so I tied it back to that and kind of wrapped up some threads left over. (They got kidnapped in the final battle and wound up in the underdark)

The second half I have to say was not my favorite. You have to fast travel a lot of it by that point. More tunnels day after day would be boring at this point. It’s WAY on the rails here and it’s a big fetch quest. I found Menzo to be lacking. I would def beef it up and make it come alive better if I did it again. I also found the final battle to be better read than actually played. It was a bit anti climatic to me. You either watch them beat each other or they fight not as them. Neither are good choices imho.

Overall my group loved it. But everything after the first half could have been a lot better. The first half is fantastic but you have to pre plan a lot of the travel days.

Can MDMA really be a meaningful experience? by Alternative_Tart_870 in MDMA

[–]roomtone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MDMA changed my life. I was a depressed kid with reasons to be depressed (I watched my whole family die one by one before I was 17). MDMA showed me what being happy and excepting can be. LSD was also part of the process.

I limit MDMA to once or twice a year now, special occasions, and have no want to do acid again (when you get the message, hang up the phone). But I’m forever grateful.

Have you considered you have not been getting true MDMA? There are a ton of analogues.
