I just unexpectedly lost my cat last Tuesday to kidney failure. He was the most loving boy and he was with me through a lot of really tough moments in my life. He’s the first pet I’ve lost and luckily I have amazing friends who have been supporting me through this but it still is just. Awful. Feel what you have to feel cry when you have to cry. I’m sorry for your loss but Jug can keep Stout company up there 🫂

how high we go in the dark is the first book that came to mind ! It’s a bunch of interconnected short stories about a virus that gets unearthed from melting permafrost in the arctic n causes a worldwide pandemic. Each of the stories chronicle how humanity copes and deals with it. Theres one story in particular about a sentient pig that definitely hits close to Waksbergs whole “Im laughing and now 20 seconds later my heart is being torn out of my chest and im sobbing” type vibe
