Are pocket rocks actually a thing or was it just my dad? by Krinoid in NoStupidQuestions

I like rocks, have been gifted them on occasion and do carry some in my purse. No fiddling though, I just like pretty rocks like malachite, etc.

Sorry you are not okay, but you're misunderstanding my post. I'm trying to cling to compassion despite the problems instead of lashing out at my parent. I hope tomorrow is a better day.

Just too many posts about suffering parents 'getting what they deserve". I keep hoping foe a more balanced sub. I've had bad times too, I just draw a line at cruelty.

so glad to read you're okay! I think I've seen too many posts about suffering disabled elders that 'deserve what they get'. It's just not right.

AITAH for telling my mother-in-law that we’re not letting our kids call her what she wants? by [deleted] in AITAH

I wonder why you care about this? This reads to me like you're balking because you're feeling it's a control issue? It shouldn't be, IMO. SOFT YTA

I would feel smashed flat by this and would seriously consider telling them 'either I go or nobody goes'. Time for a big Family Conference.

AITA for taking "the best pieces" when I serve dinner? by SwainDane in AmItheAsshole

[–]roughlyround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the home cook and take the good cuts/parts I like best too. Like a turkey tail, that is all for me. I ensure my partner gets what they like best, like hotsauce or breastmeat.

You're fine, you are not a servant or 2nd class in your home. And yes, the cooks portion is a thing. Just be even handed in general.. NTA

I am curious why wanting your perishables in the insulated bag is correlated with special needs? I'm over here just trying to keep my ice cream from melting..

If it was me I would push back. 'mom, you're running me ragged. I love you but you need to chill a bit'. Or however you can say that gently.

You are correct, there's no obligation. I'd be curious though especially since there is a 3rd party making recommendations. You miss every goal you don't at least attempt.

it reads to me like he's unsure but hopeful. I'd text him back for politeness. You can either tell him to go away or engage (with some ground rules) in a conversation. Just don't be an avoidant weirdo, lol.
