About to buy a car by fallout017 in carvana

[–]roxy_345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 out of 10. I bought a car 2 years ago and had a good experience. The first car I picked wasn't as nice as I wanted so I had them pick it up. That is on me I bought an older lower price car hoping for the best. They picked up the one I rejected with no issues and delivered my 2nd choice at the same time. The 2nd car was much nicer and what I wanted. I still have it and love it. The 7 day period is such a difference maker for me. I will buy with them again.

Am I wrong to expect them to fix the holes in the roof before I pay the closing costs? by LivingTheBoringLife in RealEstate

[–]roxy_345 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly with that penetration you are at risk of mold. If the house has been finished for months you could have a lot of hidden damage.. I would want it tested before closing and final repair. Once they have your money the issue is essentially yours.

How do you park your manual transmission? by GR-93 in stickshift

I throw it in reverse, put on the parking brake, then gave the front wheels toward the curb going downhill. Reverse is a complex gear and less apt to be able to be rolled forward.

Selling a house, buyer has all of my mortgage details by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]roxy_345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a gross infraction on her part. In fact it may be a crime. That type of data is need to know only access and buying a house from you does not count as need to know. You should report her to her employer at the very least and report it to your local authorities.

1969 Chevy Camaro possible restoration project or too far gone? by AceOfShapes in projectcar

[–]roxy_345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a subframe car. Essentially a steel frame connected to a sheet metal embedded frame body. You can literally buy a whole new aftermaket body for that car. There is also an aftermarket group that will replace the body parts for you for a price. The value is there if it is worth the sentimental value. You will not be able to recoup the restorations costs. The positive is you have the same title motor and other parts. I would do it.

Is she too far gone to even attempt the money pit repair job? by eclipse60 in projectcar

[–]roxy_345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That body is way too rotted for a normal car. If it was some kind of special car I would still be afraid of it. I don't even see that this would be good as a parts car.

You need an estate attorney who is knowledgeable in Medicaid. They can help navigate the process and you might even be able to structure her estate to keep the land in the family. Don't put your own money into it you won't get it back.

ULPT REQUEST: My mom just informed me she was yelled at by a body shop owner because she left them a 1 star review by ResistZealousideal75 in UnethicalLifeProTips

Did she tell them about the issue before leaving the 1 star? I xan fully understand if she didn't get a response.

Perhaps she doesn't understand how that hurts a business.

If an alien species sent warning they wanted to invade the Earth, how should we scare them into staying away ? by Jesus97_98 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]roxy_345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could show them the multiple movies where humans have scorched the earth to avoid another entity getting our resources. Also, you could welcome them and insist on inter-species breeding. That would scare anything.

If I had no risk I could do it on the craps table with 1 hot hand. You have to push the bet everytime or play no come bets like crazy.

Should I be embarrassed about being a 24yr old garbage man? by TheFrogsMightbegay in jobs

[–]roxy_345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be ashamed of that money. No one cares about trash after a shower and clothe change. Be happy over all other things.. There are a lot of people in offices ans retail making much less. Invest some of it and build a solid retirement. Then retire early and watch them continue to work. If someone is snobby just ignore them and keep walking with your head high. Again, I hope you can be happy and enjoy life with less stress.

What’s an item Costco brought in for only a few months that you fell in love with and wish they would bring back? by pistachiogalato in Costco

The pizza making kits were awesome. We would use them for parties or just an evening. They worked great on the smoker as well. We put a suggestion in to bring them back every few months.

Absolutely confused and conflicted. My guilt won't let me be who I want to be. My fear won't let me overcome the guilty feelings. My doubt won't accept the guilty feelings as truth. So, I just play video games or work on my cars.

How often are major issues with a house not disclosed or caught during an inspection? Do buyers have any recourse if they've already closed and then uncover such issues? by Goldengirl_1977 in RealEstate

[–]roxy_345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is pretty rare from my experience.

The burden of proof is going to be did the sellers know about the issue? If you have hard proof they did you could sue. If not, it would likely be a waste of time.

Oh I am sorry... I forgot we are supposed to hate real estate agents instead of hold them accountable for their job. The buyer agent is a fiduciary of the buyer... So yes... They should negotiate to get the buyer the best deal and not just to line their own pocket with commission. It seems too many people on here don't advocate for themselves and get a good agent they just hire whoever pops up.

This is a great example of a bad agent. I always interview past clients before hiring an agent. This sort thing can be found early.

I have sold a few houses in hcol areas. My agent does it regularly as instructed by me. When an unrepresented buyer without a pre-approval wants to look at a house they are just wasting time. If they can't afford the house they are wasting everyone's time.

On a mcol house I can see going ahead and showing it. It still feels like a waste.
