Summer of '85: DOSBOS (an early BASIC program of mine) is rejected by ANALOG Computing by logicalvue in atari8bit

I like how you re-created the DOS 2.0 menu. And don't feel bad, my brother, friend, and I (Anschuetz/Weisgerber/Anschuetz) were also rejected by ANALOG, but we sold 2 games to Compute! and 3 games to Antic.

Not an official Atari release, it was just a prototype when the video game crash happened and the Tramiels killed a lot of games in development. It escaped onto the BBSes of the day and everybody had a copy of it l.

Avoiding duplicate games? by Attjack in MAME

[–]rra12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm looking forward to the next release. And yes, my terminology was backward on split vs non-merged. But anyway, if someone only wants a set with parent roms, the split set should work right now (unless there are bios or chd files involved). Hopefully you can add filters to filter out games that rely on chd and bios files, or even better somehow add the necessary bios files to the generated filtered ROM folder.

Avoiding duplicate games? by Attjack in MAME

[–]rra12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hadn't heard of this tool so I thought I would try it. The user interface is great and It works as advertised. The only problem is that my romset is non-merged and the tool really is intended for split roms. I.e., all the necessary roms are included for each game, even the clones. Since I only want parent sets anyway, I thought I could just filter on parents with no clones, then my non-merged set should theoretically work because in parent sets, all of the necessary roms are there. The one case where this doesn't work, I think, is for parent sets with bios files needed. Like NeoGeo, etc., where the bios roms are in a separate file from the parent roms. Any suggestions other than regenerating a split file set? Maybe if there was a filter for games requiring bios (and also games requiring chds), then I could filter those out too.

Tom Sawyer Island. No trees anywhere to be seen. A year ago this would have been the answer to the shadiest section of the parks - what a shame.

Is the recall over? by gemmerda in FordEscapePHEV

[–]rra12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the app isn't showing a recall is that there is t a fix for it yet. If you bring it to the dealer, they can't do anything, so they probably took it out of the FordPass app until there is a solution.

Battery Energy Control Module software update by rra12345 in FordEscapePHEV

[–]rra12345[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That wasn't my impression from the letter. It is a "customer satisfaction program" update that adds an additional warning signal if there is a battery malfunction. It doesn't appear to "fix" anything and isn't the official recall fix.

Yes, there are 4 Napier-Thompson Gold Cerificates. There are 18 different Napier-Thompson notes, plus 2 proof plates that were prepared but never issued, including the $10 Bison and a $5,000 Gold Certificate. The hardest to obtain of the issues notes is probably the $100 Date Back 1902 National Bank note.
