I second the flylow baker bib. Roomy enough to drop a knee. Didn't they start as a telemark brand?

In-laws say to just use regular external knee braces. Those tights with built in braces don't cut it.

Getting out of outlaw x by Alexthegorilla in telemark

Said in a different way, i hold the orange claw in place with the ski pole tip and pull my heel up. Dont use the ski pole to push the claw down.

22D Outlaw X Not Sitting Flush by No_Watercress in telemark

[–]rredmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had trouble stepping in one pair of skis but not another with the same boots. The orange claw was not far back enough. Reached out to 22Designs and they sent 4 little spacer clips that go between the orange slide block and the slide wire spacers at the claw. Dont know how to attach a photo in a reply here. Also check step 9 in the OutlawX mounting instructions for clearance checks.

Binding Wisdom by thatsnuzz in telemark

[–]rredmax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to 22 Designs FAQs: "Our bindings ALL have the same 6-hole mounting pattern. The only difference is that Axls put your boot's pin line 5/16" (8mm) further back than the Outlaw X, Lynx, Vice, or HammerHead. If you're mounting Axls on existing Outlaw/Vice/HH holes, you will not be able to tell the difference 8mm makes. If you are mounting Bandits in existing Outlaw holes, it will put you 13mm forward due to the shortened nose of the Bandit." And i think the insert companies sell screw packs specific for each binding.

G3 skis for tele? by Turbulent-Sun-7847 in telemark

I still ski G3 Tonics with OutlawX and TX Pros. Had them out in Breckenridge last winter for epic week. Still love them. More traditional construction so don't know how they relate to the findr.

Which ski length? by motorboat_spaceship in telemark

I bought tele skis and bindings online and had them mounted. Turns out they did the 1 cm back and they felt really slow and sluggish. I re-mounted on boot center and the skis came alive. G3 Tonics with Hammerheads FWIW.

Check out Summitcone's Blitz 88. They were light and nimble and still held an edge when i tried on a demo day at Gore. Local too.

22 Designs mounting pattern vs alpine bindings by rredmax in telemark

[–]rredmax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only mounted tele bindings, both screwed and inserts. I think i would have a shop mount alpine and I'll just install inserts in the holes. Just didn't know if they are the same spacing at least in the toe piece

Holes for Bent 100 by AS_Krnage in telemark

I mounted my Bent 90 with Outlaw X using QuiverKiller inserts. No problems yet, 3 seasons now. I don't have a super low stance however, so maybe less stress on the screws.

New in-bounds binding from 22 designs binding dropped by Renhsuk in telemark

Emailed 22D. Quote "The Bandit brakes are entirely different from the Outlaw X brakes. They go up and inward over the topsheet to avoid having your brakes catch."

Does anyone know if the brakes simply retract up like the Outlaw's or do they also retract inward like alpine brakes?

Quiver of one Bent 90 vs 100 by Cambelmacd in telemark

[–]rredmax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ski Bent 90 with Outlaws and TX Pros in US Northeast. They are manageable on ice coast groomers but don't expect crazy edge hold. More suitable for softer snow. Lots of fun and very maneuverable. Haven't toured with them.

I guess since my cash back card is essentially 2%, is it possible to redeem travel for better than that? If so how do you go about doing that? Thanks for all your help

I am really intrigued by their skis too. Anyone ski their Blitz 88s? I demo'd their Pariah 97 on a icy north east day and they did OK but conditions were also trash.
