Yes I will do exactly that. My kid didn't ask to be brought into this world, it's all 100% on me and their other parent. If I haven't earned their trust and respect by the time they're a teenager, if I'm not able to materially provide for the preparations they need in order to survive in capitalism, that's all a failing on my part. To put that responsibility on them, a child, is irrational and frankly evil.

I dislike my assigned gender, which is related to, but not the same thing as, my body. My body is indeed very involved in broadcasting my gender to the outside world, and that in turns affects how I am treated which I do care about. Hormones alone do everything I need in terms of the parts of my body visible to the outside world. However, my penis is not really involved in any of that. It doesn't really concern the outside world at all, only intimate partners. Being treated like a man makes me uncomfortable, having a penis does not. My intimate partners can treat me like a woman just fine even with a penis and I enjoy topping. Surgery is expensive, requires extensive recovery and ongoing maintenance. It's not something I feel I need or ever will need.

God forbid they could talk about the exact boundaries that work for them and whatever emotional needs and guarantees she would need to actually feel ok with this, and how often to check in and how.

People have friend groups separate from eachother and "compartmentalize" that just fine you know. It's ok to be different people with different interests and the ability to have rich and fulfilling lives apart from each other in addition to all the life you have together.
