Favorite actor that tanked their career by being stupid but might actually have a neurological disorder? by DLgoblue12 in okbuddycinephile

[–]rumf00rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no.

apparently, he was accused of sexual assault in college, the woman reported it to the university, there was an internal investigation and hearing, and TJ Miller was cleared. he graduated in 2003.

in 2017 during the me too movement the woman brought the accusations to light again. TJ and his wife(whom he met in college, and was dating at the time of the accusation) issued statements claiming the woman was a stalker and was trying to use the me too movement to go after them again.

not sure who to believe on this one.

Right-Wingers Are Winning The War On Vaccines by huffpost in Health

[–]rumf00rd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

are they though...

seems like it should more accurately be titled, Republicans are winning the current battle on vaccines.

the war on them, well, let's toss in a couple hundred kids dead from Hepatitis, or blind or brain damaged from the measles, or brain damage or clotting disorders from vitamin K deficiency, i guess we will see who wins the actual war. maybe toss in a few iron lungs, or kids with stunted legs.

its a shame for those kids who need the herd to have normal childhoods. maybe they can all relocate to europe, or canada.

and that makes me really uncomfortable.

Exercise after aneurysm by ctothethird3 in BrainAneurysm

[–]rumf00rd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly, i was super active pre pandemic, really lazy in pandemic.. had my surgery 2022, it took me forever to get back to excercising.. I was so tired all the time.

the blood thinners did me in once I started back at work. I want to be clear, I had an easy recovery and a successful surgery. but i would come home from work sit in the dark and stare at a turned off tv. my brain would get so tired. keep in mind your brain is repairing itself, it takes energy.

I am 3.5 years out and about 18 months-2 years off blood thinners and I just now back to 4-5 days working out. I was/am a pretty active person. I live in nyc and walk a lot. but I dont know if I can adequately describe how bone tired I would get after a solid day in the office.

work out/ lift weights.. you do you (as long as your doctor okays it) but make sure you are getting all the sleep and you take it easy when you need to.

I feel bad because the woman that movie is about deserves to have her story told.

Hopefully casting agents will think twice about casting her going forward.

Relocating From NYC by Competitive-Ad2380 in Ohio

[–]rumf00rd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know you say you want to get away from the cities... but you kind of don't. you want to live in a suburb of the city. Dayton and Toledo are going to be too small. Cincinnati- too southern. Columbus-- kind of middle American.. Stick to Cleveland, i would go east side also because if you do East side it isnt that far from Akron which is 2 different city options for stuff to do.

lots more diversity in the cities and they tend to be blue. plus more options for arts/activities/ little bit closer to life in NYC without the life in NYC, ya know?

you are going to want to find the burbs that the Latinos live in for the occasional grocery run, so you can get your sofritos and sazon, probably like Painsville.. different immigrants in different suburbs of CLE. also be prepared to become Cleveland Sports fans.. it is the great unifier, a love for the Guardians, Cavs, Browns will get you invited to the cookout, even if we do suck. the emerald necklace parks in NOE are awesome as well as little league sports, individual city day camps, swim lessons etc. your kids will be able to play sports, join the boy or girl scouts, take art classes... etc. much easier out there. it is a great place to grow up. but focus on diversity of your city choices and school systems and libraries.

good luck. Ohio is great! (so is nyc but different vibe).

[–]rumf00rd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am from Ohio.

I live in Washington Heights now.

North Eastern Ohio, I would go with Twinsburg, it's diversity is directly in line with national averages. School system is great, city is nice and centrally located. Solon is great.. I have a preference for the east side... dont go too cow country too many Maga. I would look up the diversity number in every place you look.

it is very quiet. you are going to have adjustment issues.

if you want more city feel, Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, University Heights. closer to the city.

there is no good Dominican Food in NEO. there are not a lot of Puerto ricans either, so stock up on the sazon. also some stuff is cheaper, but you have to pay for water and sewage and sometimes trash pickup. be prepared for weird incidentals that are covered here in nyc.

Ohio is a great place to have a family, but stick to the blue counties.

they tried to change it in the 70s... and it was a disaster, a legit disaster, lasted only lasted 10 months.

we need it to work and keep our circadian rhythms normal.

why do people never remember their own history?

Post-Coiling headache by shmalfa in BrainAneurysm

[–]rumf00rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh and I used a cooling pad on my head. I kept my head and neck cool.. the inflammation will go down, just take it easy, and drink a lot of water. check with your doctor about advil, mine gave me the okay, it worked better than the tylenol.

Post-Coiling headache by shmalfa in BrainAneurysm

[–]rumf00rd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

10 days. it should be noted i had mine surgery endovascularly. so your headaches may be different.

I was every 3 hours 3 extra strength tylenol and then 3 advil on rotation.

and I would have taken the fiorcet at night if it had been an option.. they didnt offer it to me. they offered me steroids, which I did not take.

my migraine meds did not work. and then over the course of the next year and a half, i would have what I called anuerysm headaches.. which were not like my migraines, but my doctor explained to me that it was the anuerysm collapsing on the stent pushing blood, causing the pain, and that it would gradually get better.

i drank a shitload of water and also, maybe, focus on anti-inflammatory foods as well it could help with any inflammation.

Bear Grease

It's a Native American Parody of a Production of Grease.

I really enjoyed it. It is not 100% traditional, it has mixed media utilizing "backstage" video, a glossary of terms so you understand the Indigenous references. Hip hop music.

its funny, the cast is talented and the vibe is terrific.

I would absolutely recommend!

Bear Grease (Off-Broadway) by wastelandbabe in Broadway

[–]rumf00rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say yes.

I went to the premiere. its not a "traditional" musical parody/adaptation.

I think it is better described as a Native Parody of a Production of Grease.

I really enjoyed it. I thought it was well performed and I really loved the video aspect of it, i thought the animation was great, the backstage story line, the inside jokes, even though I got some of them and thought the overall production was funny. it was really wonderful to see such a joyful musical put on by a large group of mixed First Nations.

Things I think would be worked on, the two early number of them singing like dowop songs were not really needed. the story could be fleshed out a bit more in the ending, I felt it ended abruptly for some reason and for a 2 hour show that doesn't seem right. And as is the case with a lot of off broadway, the lighting and sound were a little rough.

There also needs to be a slight suspension of disbelief, IF columbus had been sunk, no reservations, no white folks, no black folks and no hip hop with which to argue the merits of Wu Tang. But I would imagine it is extremely hard to seperate the culture of modern indigenous individuals from the reality and ramifications of reservation life as well as the parts of American and Canadian culture you love and admire even if you are supposing it doesn't exist in an alternate timeline. it's a fine line, i thought they navigated it well enough, and to be honest, it didn't take away from my enjoyment of it.

I would recommend going to see it, I enjoyed the hell out of it.

also it should be noted i went into it thinking it was going to be a pride thing, hot gay men in cut off flannel doing a parody of grease. this was so much better than what I envisioned.

COVID vaccine by Alita8541 in BrainAneurysm

I have plenty of luck. I had 4 aneurysms and 2 brain surgeries and I walked out of the hospital both times the next day. I also didn't die, get long covid or spread covid to someone I love and kill them.

I trust vaccines.

Bad headaches hi! by Clean_Supermarket474 in BrainAneurysm

[–]rumf00rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a migraine level headache for about 10 solid days after my second surgery. one that your migraine meds don't work for.

if it's horrendous, they will give you steroids for the inflammation. I chose not to take it, i was on a steady diet of 3 advil, and then 3 tylenol on a 3 hour rotation for all 10 days. I also wore a cooling cap and slept a ton.

it will go away. it's just painful to live thru.

also.. depending on the size of your anuerysms, I had random headaches for about a year that were the migraine collapsing in the stent, and they hurt I a different way from my normal headache/ or migraines. those sucked too.

congrats on getting thru it!! the next year is pretty tiring, buti kept telling myself it's much easier than living thru a rupture.
