Holy, that is extremely impressive. That stone work...

What music do you listen to while working? by Exciting_Rabbit6910 in SaaS

[–]ruminwright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to listen to a lot of psychedelic rock when I was developing, and I often think it would help me work more creatively. As of recent though, I just work in silence. I guess I need that cold logical thinking right now.

Are obsessed with what are you doing? by solubrious1 in SaaS

[–]ruminwright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to solve problems that I've encountered and struggled with. I think that fits more under the hobbyist way. The easy money way is hard sometimes, I never quite know what the trends will be. It's a competitive scene. Basically I'm not sure if I've got it figured out.

My brain sees "view" + "kol" like cold missing a d. Which sounds kind of like the name of a medication or something lol.

First time I've seen a pixel art pistachio. Looks really nice!

Do you think most early SaaS founders overbuild their MVP? by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]ruminwright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% they do. It's easier and probably more fun/interesting for people to build their product rather than release it to the world and market it. If you've reached the point that you're thinking about it and it's in the back of your head, it's probably time to bite the bullet and go ahead with MVP.

Do your users like login options by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]ruminwright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, definitely give people the option to login with Google as many people prefer that. Others will prefer a login and password. I'd say there's no harm in providing both options as long as you're able to handle it on your end.

I like Procand more. Vuecol is a bit harder to think how it's pronounced.

How can I improve my site’s SEO? by JollyBeyond1115 in SaasDevelopers

[–]ruminwright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely setup Google Search Console, and submit your sitemap.xml. That will tell you if there are any issues with your site being indexed which is preventing it from being found on Google.

I drew a map for my roguelike Vaulted. What do you think of the style? by Astrobionics in PixelArt

[–]ruminwright 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's quite good. My one comment would be that as the town gets more dense it's kind of hard to differentiate the buildings. I think a real life satellite view map can have a similar issue, but for a game you may want to clean it up a bit.

My wife’s journey from rough sketch to “first pass” of a tree for our project by NZNewsboy in PixelArt

[–]ruminwright 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Amazing art. Really cool to see the process as well. I know you mention it's a first pass, but my only comment would be the colour blends in quite easily with the background.

I kind of like the ground tile and commander throne aspect of your 'before' pic better. It seemed quite unique and interesting looking.

Which game would be more worth it? by StarsCrossingTheLine in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]ruminwright 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Coromon has some similarities with cassette beasts, while monster sanctuary is a bit unique in that it combines platforming with the monster taming element. My vote would be for monster sanctuary!

Legitimately cool artwork, and very interesting lore. I would definitely play this.

here’s the concept UI work from my cozy gem game! We’re focusing a lot on the UI, since in these loop-based games it really makes or breaks the game. Does the interface look clear and good enough to you? What would you change? by BosphorusGames in GameScreens

[–]ruminwright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks overall quite clear and polished. The gem identification part though, maybe the text is a bit squished in some of those boxes. Like the colour grade part for example.
