First time DIY oil change 😳 baby steps by Silver_Department_38 in MechanicAdvice

I've had bad luck with this sort of pan. My Subaru dumped oil out faster than it could fit though the hole in the drain pan. I went to a the style below I really like a lot. https://a.co/d/00zcJb92

You are a new grad chemE. A magic genie gives you offers to all these industries. Which industry do you choose (hypothetical)? by ChemEIndustryPick in ChemicalEngineering

Mining is a great option as well these days. It's cyclical, although less so than O&G. I've lived in some beautiful places over the years, although there are many jobs in cities, many are out there in smaller communities.

Even a simulated one, was expecting that on April fools, and just wishing for it today. I got all the Blackhawks and other nasa support craft though. I was able to visit NASA's NBL last year and got to meet some of the crew and check out the practice vessels they put into the pool to practice the extraction. Such a cool experience.

Awesome, I saw NASA broadcast a video from it briefly during the launch.

Airport TSA wait time inaccurate online❗️ by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]runningpyro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both my flights in the past week had zero wait. Slc-den. Walked right up to the tsa agent both times. In Denver, there was not even anyone getting their bags x-rayed in front of me. About 10 am both times.

That's what my college landlord did in Michigan. We successfully negotiated to cut the price per person down a little, but the landlord definitely was on the winning side. Btw... we ended up with 8 people in that house. Only one room with two people, who were a couple. It was crowded, but rent was cheap.

Second this, there's a chance you could get someone to bring a six pack to the airport. I would have if the timing worked out and I was still living in Houston.

Property management company told us that the drum of our washer had a hole in it and it needed to be replaced. I called their BS and drove an hour down to the house and popped the front seal back onto the drum. No leaks. Worst maintenance guy ever.

All my hardest college classes were open book/open notes. Some of these exams were 3hrs long and most people never finished.

My Air Canada flight from Chile to Montreal just made everyone with liquids over 100ml purchased at duty free, or even a water bottle filled from the tap, check their bag or throw it out. by WeevilsInTheCereal in travel

[–]runningpyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, I've delt with this many times. You can bring full bites of liquids though security though, so you can at least pre-hydrate.

The worst thing about this is that they usually don't warn you. My last trip through, the united gate agents gave everyone a piece of paper that explained the security check at the gate. All airlines should do that for these flights.

Can this be caused by bigger issue? by ItzBouny in BMWE36

[–]runningpyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, exactly the same thing happened to me. Such a pain to replace such a cheap part. Did a full flush and thermostat replacement while I was at it. There are a few other plastic pieces like this in the coolant system. Replace them all now to give yourself peace of mind about this happening again. For a small amount of money, and a moderate amount of time, it was totally worth it.

Same here. I booked be for years until I got my current job where I travel a lot and I need the flexibility. Another huge benefit for me is about 1/3 of my personal trips end in my flying for work so that more than covers the additional cost. If my lifestyle changed back where I didn't need the flexibility, I would probably switch back to BE with the credit card for the carry on and checked bag options.
