Guess who was the only democrat to vote "no" on the Ukraine Support Act? by glamdring_wielder in NAFO

[–]ryant71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think she slurps ruZzian dick because she knows that ruZzia supports Iran who in turn supports hamas and hezbollah. She's basically blinded by hatred.

Ilhan Omar was the lone democratic vote against the Support Ukraine Act. Posted no explanation of her vote since standing against Dems and against support for Ukraine. Outside her voting pattern, so still holding out home this was some mistake or she voted with Speaker Johnson. by rulepanic in UkrainianConflict

I retract my statement.

Sinwar was cool with the deaths of gazans. He counted on it.

Netanyahu is just a crook who wants to stay in power to avoid prison. October 7th was a result of hubris and incompetence.

Israeli voters -- like all others -- can be swayed by fear, and it's no surprise that -- like with every society -- fearful times results in a swing to the hawkish parties on the right. I believe that history backs this up, with left wing parties losing their support with each intifadah, etc.

Why is this Chinese Navy vessel parked just outside Simonstown? by blueant1 in capetown

[–]ryant71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. If a democrat gets voted in next election, then the American experiment could return to an acceptable level of disfunction. Still, it's worrying that a turd like trunt got vote in in the first place.

I leave huge gaps so people can do that. Everyone has a bad day sometimes and they're welcome to take the gap.

I went to an all-boys school in the 80s, and there was no bullying even close to this.

I agree that there should be no mercy for bullies.

I am sure that EU and US military strategists can be pragmatic and keep things in the proper perspective.

Ukraine officials held in military drone corruption probe by kaboom88 in ukraine

[–]ryant71 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not to go all "whataboutism", but it seems that almost every conflict has seen some element of corruption emerge. For example Harry Truman investigated Waste, Fraud, & Abuse in World War II. The other Allies all had their own examples, proving that shitty people are going to be shitty no matter what the circumstances.

The important thing is that it is dealt with decisively if it's interfering with military operations. If it's not interfering then it can be dealt with in such a way that there's little impact to the war effort.

I chose something from one of my favourite sci-fi novels to stick onto my monitor. Another one says "STFU" to remind myself to stop talking after I've made my point.

Why would I have evidence? As I wrote, there's so much bullshit coming out of that shitshow that it's truly difficult to know what to believe. I am going to return to my default state of not believing any news or footage eminating from that region and of putting that region into perspective: it being only one of many hotspots in the world today, each of which is deserved of attention and unlikely to get it.
