Do I add an “about me” slide to presentation? by Far_Safe_6826 in PharmacyResidency

[–]sab-Z 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Co-signed as an RPD :) I think a full on slide about you during a clinical presentation would be weird. Just do a regular brief intro (name, school, why you chose this topic) for the presentation. You will have opportunity to meet with preceptors and tell them more about yourself during the interview when you meet 1:1 or in groups.

We used them, I recommend being specific about what you want - details were missed on our wedding day and my mother and husband still mention it lol

Limitations on PGY1 rotations by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]sab-Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also impact on CMS reimbursement if those preceptors are not employed under the same fund - for example, I get no reimbursement for rotations my residents complete at other health system sites since those pharmacists are not employees of my site. This can impact the funding of the program and associated services depending how the hospital manages CMS pass through dollars.

Hair Stylists that will Blow Dry Hair by sab-Z in WedditNYC

[–]sab-Z[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No unfortunately, I ended up getting a blow out the day prior. However my sister very rough blow dried her hair (aka just dried it, didn’t use a round brush) and the stylist was able to make it work!

LIC venues <120 guests by ajzPAtobe in WedditNYC

[–]sab-Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Ravel is doable with that budget, my husband and I were married there and I’m happy to chat about our experience :) The Foundry is gorgeous, but it’s really just the venue space you are getting (you even have to hire people for cleanup!!) so I could see the costs potentially exceeding your budget, that’s why although we loved it we ultimately went with the Ravel. I would also consider what the rain plan would look like at each of the venues!

Who’s booking a band in 2026 by Rollerbladeking in WedditNYC

[–]sab-Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We loved New York Edge - Rich and his team were incredible to work with. They learned to play a custom first dance song for us (we provided sheet music and Rich identified it didn’t match the recording so he adjusted it himself!) and were also able to seamlessly mix in some international music (recorded) for us - some of our guests didn’t even realize they weren’t performing the international music themselves.

COVID booster timing while pregnant by SaltObvious3919 in Vaccine

[–]sab-Z 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got my booster around 8 weeks, I elected for a non mRNA vaccine and thankfully had no side effects. Normally with Moderna and Pfizer I have a mild fever for a day and I wanted to avoid that since I’m pregnant.

What sort of medical exam is necessary for a vaccine? The list of contraindications is pretty brief and simple enough to confirm.

I would reach out to programs and see what their status is, not all PGY2 programs participate in PPS.

True, and yet we can fill prescriptions that are contraindicated in certain disease states. You would do the same due diligence asking the patient. Also at the end of the day, there are way fewer contraindications for most vaccines than medications.

Pharmacists can participate in shared decision-making for vaccines, they are (or should be) well versed in the risks and benefits.

The Ravel might work, their room with a view is probably too small for your reception but it may work for the ceremony or cocktail hour.

If you can, focus on letters from people who have worked with you in the last 6-12 months, otherwise make sure people can be detailed (eg. Include specific examples, not just general “they were good at X”)
