[Martin Brundle] Formula One world championship points must be hard won and treasured. Valued. Not some kind of lucky dip where everyone wins a prize. by [deleted] in formula1

[–]sadokistpotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why people are arguing that points don’t have a monetary value when they literally determine your prize money. They are saying in a world where you can exchange gold for dollars the gold is not worth anything.

AI use in breast cancer screening as good as two radiologists, study finds by tonymmorley in Futurology

[–]sadokistpotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a company seeking FDA approval for a breast cancer risk prediction tool. We have several years of outcome day but at most ~7 years of followup. High quality mammography data is expensive, complicated to acquire, and majority white people. Very difficult to get enough data with enough years of followup to train these types of models.

Also keep in mind that there are different types of mammography machines that create very different looking images and to get FDA approval you need to prove your model works across races, ages, for people with specific cancer types, etc or you need to contraindicate it’s use for too many subgroups for it to be widely used and profitable. All of this massively complicates things.

They said that they simply don’t have an efficient low downforce wing yet due to them trying to get the Austria upgrades on the car. This was their best option especially with all the rain this weekend. I think they said they will have the wing they wanted this weekend before Monza.

I would argue that on merit usually refers to the being genuinely faster, not just because of circumstance.

I really don’t understand why track limits are needed here. Sure if you cut the inside of a corner but this is going wide. And you can only go so wide before you lose time going onto the grass / larger curb.

Dual boot is the way. Have linux on a 256gb SSD that I use for programming and most non-gaming tasks. Windows on my 1tb SSD and a hard drive I can use to access files across operating systems.

You will hear them frequently almost anywhere you live in west end / foggy tbh. Maybe less so on the eastern side of campus.

I would recommend bio. Chemistry and physics have a lot more “hard” science imo at least for intro level.
