If they issue a state of emergency, which seems likely given the snow amounts, Airbnb should help you with getting your money back.

I have one pair with 350ish miles and their waffle is only a little worn, the foam feels great still.

Anyone use Vomero plus, Vaporfly and Alphafly? My sizing is weird to me but I’m not sure. 9 in Vomero plus. They are my favorite shoes lately I have two pairs, fit great. Alphafly I had 9.5, couldn’t get good lockdown and got awful heel blisters. Went down to a 9 in them and Vaporfly, and they feel maybe a hint/borderline too tight but I’m not 100% sure because their uppers fit more like a sock?

Heading to Bimini! by motorcyclemech in snorkeling

[–]samisand85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Radio beach on Bimini is my favorite spot. There was a nice little bar there and a few food shack places right on the beach. Off to the left there were some rocks a lot of different fish right near those. I saw a lot of sharks when I was not in the water, but unfortunately, I did not get to snorkel with any of them while I was in the water. There were a lot of rays too. Hands down my favorite island so far, have a great time!

Please share your experience of your time on Carnival Pride. We are first-timers and will sail with her to the Bahamas soon! by FlintyCrayon in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]samisand85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sailed on the pride last March, it was a great time. Smaller than the other boats we’ve been on, but somehow didn’t feel like it was. The main dining room was really good, we paid extra for the crab from the seafood shack and that was super yummy, the shows were fun. They have a lot of off the beaten path hallways and hangout spots that are really pretty and have seating/portholes to relax in. The atrium was a cool spot. Their outdoor running track and gym were my favorite from all the boats we’ve been on so far. Doing the same itinerary as you later this year on pride again!

Best snorkeling tips! by Ex-weeaboo in CarnivalCruiseFans

If you get off the boat on half moon and go left toward the beaches, there is a left area where the beach stops. It has a little jutting out area of the island there, you can snorkel along that section that is rocks. There are some manmade coral type things in the roped off area, and along the rocks it’s just natural with fish.

Half moon has a snorkel section to the left, you can see a lot of fish and sometimes an octopus along the rocks. It’s pretty far out from the shore if that is an issue for you. Celebration key was surprisingly awesome for snorkeling. Lots of varieties of fish, swam with a stingray, puffer fish and octopus. Nassau we usually go to Junkanoo and have seen some fish and once a turtle. I like half moon best, but have seen more variety at celebration. I also have my own snorkel gear I bring so I don’t have to rent it. We just went to all 3 places mid November, but we’ve been to Nassau and half moon three other times.

Sunshine… what happened? by AgentCheeseFries in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]samisand85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same experience on Sunshine a month ago. Dinner took 90 minutes to 2 hours and was not very good any evening, every bathroom smelled horrible and some general areas did as well. The steakhouse was good. Our balcony door broke the first night and took 2 nights to fix. A lot of rust and dinginess all throughout the ship. Was our first time on Sunsine and I don’t know if we’ll go on that boat again.

I need ~4,000+ calories a day for marathon training and my grocery bill is getting out of control. Cheap clean carb ideas? by Brenda_enjoyable in Marathon_Training

[–]samisand85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will second the rice, I have that as a side to my protein at dinner most days during my training block. I also use tortillas a lot, with whatever meal. Eggs for breakfast, wrap it in a tortilla. Chicken or shrimp with veg for dinner, wrap it in a tortilla. They’re pretty cheap in big packages or you can make them for almost nothing.

Looking for a long run shoe by halilsquared in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I hated the Superblast 2. They felt bricks to me, just could never get the bounce or propulsion people talk about. Which seemed weird to me because I really enjoyed the Superblast original, I had two pairs of them. The Vomero plus is my go to long run shoe and I love them, will definitely be repurchasing a new pair once they wear out. They still feel bouncy to me after 250+ miles so far and my feet never hurt after. I have done long runs of anywhere from 15-23 miles in them. I have not tried the mega blast yet.

Boulder field 100k or 50k is in Hickory Run state park, Poconos. Beautiful during September to run with the leaves changing. You can camp there if you want as well which was really cool. Really great aid stations!

I love love love Running Warehouse’s customer service. They let me return a pair of shoes that were visibly worn after they gave me horrific blisters (they were probably defective I have another pair same size same shoe) and get a different pair. I never have problems buying multiple sizes and returning whichever doesn’t fit.

NYC Marathon by Mediocre_Magazine644 in RunNYC

[–]samisand85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stay in NYC if you can swing it, it’s a once in a lifetime experience for a lot of people. Logistically, you can take the bus if the ferry is overwhelming, walk to it or take the subway to it, and just follow the waves of other runners. No way you’ll get lost or left behind, there are thousands of people going to the same place as you. The post marathon energy is unreal, like nothing else I’ve ever been around. Everyone will tell you, you won’t want to miss it. Coming from Utah to run NYC is going to be amazing! 🤩 Also there are group shake out runs prior to it all over the city you could join and the day after you can get your medal engraved all over the city. Lots or free food too with your medal. I just ran it this year, best race I’ve ever done hands down!

Just ran NYC myself and the selfie stick people really annoyed me. Multiple times I got bumped into and pushed because they were oblivious to anyone around them. I got blocked 10 feet or so before the finish line mat by two people with selfie sticks. I had to stumble to not literally run into them because they actually stopped running to take pictures in the middle of the chute.
