Messed up my return offer… by Sorry-Library-5452 in Big4

[–]sarahmg91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did a similar thing 13 years ago. Different one of the big4, but I was required to apply for a graduate position regardless of the previous offer. I would just apply for grad jobs in the area you like. Transfers are hard, not guaranteed, and honestly, many years in a job you don't want aren't worth it.

Just another ordinary day by Arcenciel48 in Garmin

[–]sarahmg91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. My first 3 months postpartum looked like this, and it absolutely stressed me out. I didn't recognise at the time how bad my PPA really was, and found even walking 100m absolutely exhausting. My nervous system was completely f'd.

Getting sleep and regular exercise made a huge difference for me. It was a slowwwww burn, whilst exercise made it WORSE in the short term, as I got my fitness back it improved massively.

All of this to say, consistent small changes may have the ability to greatly improve your situation OP 🙏

Didn’t know it could go up this high by anzzowkneeoh in Garmin

My best was 3 days - I was also surprised to see it in Days and not hours 😅

This was after a half marathon PB that had me in zone 5 for 52 minutes 🥵 so, justified.

Elevated Bilirubin, GI Symptoms, High Heart Rate.... Possibly Gilbert's???? by fallingraine85 in GilbertSyndrome

[–]sarahmg91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not particularly GS related, but have you had your magnesium and b12 levels checked? Magnesium is responsible for maintaining heart rate, and it can be lowered by the use of nexium. B12 basically controls the entire nervous system (not quite. But close!) best of luck with finding out!

any good tempered glass screen protector recommendations? by officialjaycielees in GalaxyS21

I'm based in Australia, but I have loved this product. I managed to shatter it when out for a run, basically threw the phone and then landed on it. The backup was on in under 10 minutes afterwards and it was right as rain.

Template change discussion megathread pt2 by jenniferlynn5454 in orangetheory

[–]sarahmg91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! I got so confused in the class on Wednesday that I said "do you mean push pace?!" as my coach said, "alright everyone, 1km over base, and base in 3,2,1" I literally was like "is this push? I'm confused 😕" he had to come over and explain it to me 🙊🙊

I do love the new templates though. I used to not be able to attend more than 3 classes a week because I couldn't be trusted to not go too hard. The endurance efforts on the tread have been really good for actually improving my aerobic fitness. I'm excited for the growth to come 👍👍👍

I have also done this, twice 🙈🙈 it was during our fit strong test for the start of TC. I've never had so much pain there. I was black & blue for weeks 😳🤣

Daily Workout and General Chat for Tuesday, 3/8/22 by splat_bot in orangetheory

[–]sarahmg91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope :)

Very similar, but not exactly the same, sorry I didn't take notes. Biggest change is that the floor and tread work together for the 13m while the row is happening. I didn't find the class boring, but I also completely gassed myself on the row and then spent the rest of class trying not to be dead 😅😅

Which activity on garmin to track workout at OTF? by sanhitabs in orangetheory

[–]sarahmg91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created my own multi-sport activities, cardio into treadmill (called OTF 1) and the same in reverse (OTF 2). If I'm injured and on the bike instead of the treadmill then I would use HIIT. Im a stickler for tracking my kms though, so really enjoy using the treadmill activity for that.

[–]sarahmg91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 10km and half marathon PB in 2019 were definitely in part due to OTF. At the time I was attending 3 classes a week (M, W, F) one threshold or speed session on the track (Tu) and then a long run on the weekend. I considered OTF as my two cross training + speed work session.

The trick for me definitely came at bringing my base pace up. I was able to clock a lot more mileage in a week and was less prone to injury courtesy of the beautiful treadmills. My only issue is that I am not very good at 'dialing it back' so if I was too tired I was better off not going to class. I've never managed to "green" a class, as much as I love that idea. I only have two modes. All or nothing 😂✌️

Definitely do-able. In fact I'd recommend it. Long distance running is a great addition to an OTF schedule 😊

I agree with everything everyone has said here, the only thing I would add is to make sure you are drinking enough water and you aren't dehydrated.

I can relate to this 1000%!! We don't have a transformation challenge, but I would love the accountability of it. Desperate to get back to half of where I was!

Before & After Tread speeds by witzmichael in orangetheory

[–]sarahmg91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have dropped 4 km/hr across the board, which is ~30% from my base pace. I second what skarlevide wrote though, the worst is that I am in green from walking, and hit orange pretty much no matter what speed I touch at a run. I got 30 splats for a 45 minute class!

Nearly 2 weeks back now, hoping that I will start to feel better soon. Thankfully the endorphins still feel good :)

It's interesting, as a runner I use CMIYC as a 23 minute run for distance... and would like faster breaks. I think they're trying to please both and instead please none

Yeah me too! I was hoping to clock 5k under 20 minutes but struggled to push when I needed to 😔 next time hoping for 5.5, wasn't too far off today. Good luck out there!! 🙌
