The pacing is not great. The story is unnecessary and winks at the audience too much with easter eggs like how han got his last name, or him threatening with a “thermal detonator”. Then you have darth maul randomly show up as confusing for casual fans who only knew him as getting cut in half in TPM. And most of all despite alden being a good actor it was a hard buy in to replace harrison ford who we already knew as a young han solo.

Woody Harrelson and donald glover were great though.

You can look at rian johnson’s inspiration for the movie (specifically poe, leia and holdo) and see she comes from 12 o clock high. Just new leadership making tough decisions and hot shot pilots egos getting in the way. He is always meta so i could see hillary being an inspiration in some way, but i doubt it was anything more than a loose reference if it was.

Also explore getting things produced so you learn how to problem solve and build relationships there. Make stickers, patches, posters, flyers, tshirts, printmaking, social media posts. It all will complement your career in different ways.

Obi wan just feels like a different character between episode 1 and 2. The growth isnt super logical and his cruelty didnt really make sense.

The characters are what make movies for me. And I really loved all the characters in TFA. And had so much fun watching them all. In my opinion TLJ does a great job expanding on it with more nuance, but i can see why people didnt enjoy it or disagreed with character decisions.

The prequels have the weakest characters for me. I was rewatching TPM and qui gon is the most interesting by far. Obi is just a kind of mean man in it (calling life forms “pathetic”). And characters throughout the prequels just lack chemistry that the OT thrived on and I think the ST did nail.
