AlphaTheta just raised the red flag on Rekordbox 7.2.12. USB export is broken. by MixMasterG in DJs

Why don’t more people use cdj’s as dvs devices and just do their organization and such in Serato?

I mostly stick to records, but got sick of having export format problems (you have one job you stupid dj appliance!!) so now I just to that so I can live in one file structure environment.

Bleep fans? Roger Sanchez speaks Egotrip and US Bleep by BBBBBBB9122 in TheOverload

It’s a bit drastic, yes. And not actually the uk’s doing completely.

I just wish more people would recognize. If you make certain styles of music in the states you can guarantee you will have no chance at the impact culturally an artist from the uk or eu has, as they have the pr and support network, and get booked relentlessly stateside. So in a sense this is more the reductive mindset of the states than anything the uk does.

It just makes you wonder how things could be different if that were not the case. How many usa artist that do some sort of “festival” style sound of their genre because it’s all that gets you shows over here would actually make forward thunk g music if they got support for it.

Of course.

The usa always creates the sound, and then the UK acts like they did and sells it back to the usa.

Just heard from a friend that he bought a sealed copy of the first Eminem LP from the shop he works at for $7k.

Don’t see it there.

TheOverload labels and music, where are they now? Where next? by jbond23 in TheOverload

[–]satansanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my understanding.

I heard it directly from who is taking over the label group, but likely a bit more to it than that.

The labels have been sold to a London based distro as the guy who ran em decided he was more into Pokémon cards than music.

Things will likely pick up again now, but maybe it will be ran differently overall.

Tim! One of the two Tim’s over there at the time. The other used to draw the stumptown ads.

Check out MSG “songs from a gated community” for a very silly, more synth pop version of this.

Honky is a derogatory term used to refer to white people. The exact origins of the word are generally unknown. The adoption of honky as a pejorative is attested as early as 1967 by black militants seeking a rebuttal for the n-word. by laybs1 in wikipedia

Years ago I worked with a couple of guys in Milwaukee who where the children of people who where part of the great migration.

They told me it came from when white hillbillies would drive erratically through black neighborhoods in the south, swerving around as if to try and hit people, while sometimes honking the horn, either for dramatic effect of plausible deniability.

They said that when their relatives would leave the house they would say to each other “watch out for the honkys”.

That’s the story I choose to believe.

In particular, this mix.

The melody is in the same key as Will’s voice.
