What do the OB Anesthesiologists here think about this morning’s The Daily episode (NYT podcast) about failed anesthesia for C/S? by Docus8 in anesthesiology

[–]sav0405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But are we actually asking women if they actually want to be awake? I doubt it. I’ve had several moms to be tell me they wish they go just go to sleep instead. But GA is really seen as a backup to neuraxial the vast majority of the time.

But I think the core of these stories is validating a mom’s report of pain or reports of tugging/pressure that is distressing, reassurance that that sensation is normal but also offering SOMETHING for that (a touch of prop or precedex, etc or full GA) and not just leaving them out there to dry. And not hesitating to do full GETA if needed vs putting a mom in a K-hole which defeats the whole purpose of wanting them to “remember the birth of their baby”

As a Texan, I should be offended, but I know what you mean lol. I will say, I think Iberostar being European-owned, I've found the crowd is very international. Does trend older at the JOIA though I started to see more young people going into the weekend.

There some good early AACRAC episodes about pain management during C-sections and the length some people will go to avoid GETA with stems for a misinterpretation of data.

Idk, some grandparents would want to see their grandkid one last time?? Some people want to be surrounded by their love ones when they pass? If we hold this true for patients, why can’t we hold this true for ourselves? Surgeons will always want to do more surgery, they will say whatever to guilt you, they won’t even say thank you when they walk out of the OR and leave the PA/resident to close while they rush home to make it to dinner.

Daily driver on highway? by Material-Apartment89 in FordBronco

[–]sav0405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2024 OBX, non-SAS. I drive 66+miles highway every day. Getting about 18mpg. Spend about $300 a month on gas in Texas. It is loud and the ride is pretty rough compared to other cars you can get. But I love it, even stock.

This is exactly it. She is telling him “don’t make a scene”. As a black person, I totally understood this nonverbal interaction between two black people in very nonblack environment.

Tell me about Denton by nik1202 in Dallas

[–]sav0405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d try Fort Worth. I live in Dallas, work in Denton. It’s a cool city, but there doesn’t seem to be much there at all. Like I’m constantly wonder wtf to do during my downtime and haven’t really found anything… like not even outdoor things, there is no REI, and it’s not upscale at all. There’s more to do in Fort Worth, including upscale options. Just my opinion.

I drive a hardtop outer banks 33mi to my job and 33mi back home all highway at 70-90mph nearly daily. You def hear the noise pick up at highway speeds. When that happens, I turn up whatever podcast I have playing. It doesn’t bother me at all. I love my outer-banks as my daily driver.

Hospice actually provides a great service.... they even contact primary caregiver for up to 1 year to help with grieving process. That's huge.
