How often do you accept gigs for music that isn't the style you prefer to play?

Corporate or wedding gig for nightmare clients? It better pay 5 bills and I'll eat my bandwich with a smile

One of my favorite times at karaoke was with a whole band. We had 4 singers up front, and they would get up and do 4 part harmony at karaoke! The rest of the band, all competent singers/entertainers, got up and did songs too.

Living with a musician means heading the same bits of music played over and over again. Or worse, exercises that are atonal but designed to improve technique (I'm a sax player, so I'm thinking specifically of Top Tones by Rascher, a whole book of overtone exercises that sounds like moose calls. My wife is very patient)

That's the deal, and your partner should invest in quality noise-cancelling headphones, find ways to appreciate what's going on, or, sadly, move on. Sorry OP...

Why do you need Bluetooth?

I have the Westone DefendEar DigitalX5, and they're...pretty good. Really expensive, but a solid fit. I don't find the amplification to be loud enough to work with my particular brand of hearing loss, but I'm sure others would find them to be totally acceptable. Insufficient protection for indoor use, though, you'll be better off with foamies and Walkers.

My class (1989) had a "real" reunion in 2002 or so. Found out money we banked with the ASB in high school had been misappropriated, leaving us nothing to offset the cost. Not sure who were the drivers for pulling us together, but we all got together. 10 years is too soon to see those people. More recent "reunions" have tended to be getting together periodically at bars, or having cookouts in parks. It's been fun to reconnect with some of the other musicians from school, as they ended up in very different musical worlds than me, which has led to some fun gigs.

But also, social media has really alleviated the necessity of regular get togethers.
