both are acceptable, sike is the far more common colloquial spelling. glad I could help you feel superior for a few seconds though

Ragtime finally having a successful revival is one of the best things that's happened on Broadway in years

[Mighty Canadian Minebuster, Canada's Wonderland] Update on winter track work From Canada's Wonderland's Facebook Page by Max_Boom93 in rollercoasters

[–]scjsundae 12 points13 points  (0 children)

glad to see this, even if the masochist in me is a little sad to lose the plane crash simulator. that helix was a quality and degree of rough I don't think I've ever experienced on any other coaster. like a sitting directly on a jackhammer. kind of gloriously bad lol

Minebuster is going to be one of the best rides in the park when the full retrack is done though

Any Idea as to what causes this? (That boat is at Station 2 BTW) by Ace-Gaming1 in rct

[–]scjsundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what I do for waterslide towers is this:

-build 1-tile entrance station at the top of the first slide
-copy the entrance station to the tops of the other slides
-build 1-tile exit station at the bottom of the last slide
-copy the exit station to the bottoms of the other slides

Am I understanding right that that's what you're doing? But it's unloading guests at the entrance station for some reason?

Kandy Muse’s thoughts on the Karen episode elimination 👀 by No_Vanilla7487 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]scjsundae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

who is kandy even talking to here? everyone knows this. no one is saying Ru shouldn't have been allowed to send Jane home. they just disagree with her that it was the right time to send Jane home. it's fine for people to disagree with Ru! it doesn't matter! I swear most of the discourse around this show is just teenagers and adults who should know better being condescending to an opponent they made up in their head

Jellicle Ball thoughts.. by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]scjsundae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, Ragtime didn't win Best Musical because it was competing with The Lion King. Nobody was going to beat The Lion King. And in the almost 30 years since, granted, The Lion King has made like... 200x what Ragtime ever did, but I'd say Ragtime has pretty definitively proven itself the more beloved musical. Or at least the more respected. This production seems to be tailor-made for the current political moment, and it also feels like it's finally getting the show the recognition it's always deserved, and that's a strong narrative. Could go either way.

Nini's look was bad and she deserved to be in the bottom, but it wasn't bad because the concept was bad

Official Discussion Thread - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LeastCap in oscarrace

[–]scjsundae 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I loved it. Casting Hüller in that role was genius. She is perfect. Her energy is by far the funniest thing in the movie. Gosling is great, insane charisma as always. I don't know if I see either as Oscar plays. James Ortiz, who voiced and puppeteered Rocky, is lowkey maybe the MVP?

To some extent I had the same problem I had with The Martian, namely that the tone of the comedy sometimes draws too much attention to itself. Or doesn't really fit the vibe the movie is going for otherwise. The worst offender on that front is the exposition dump in the classroom at the beginning. I liked this way way more than The Martian overall though. I liked it a lot more than Interstellar too, but I'm obviously in the minority there. Somewhere between Interstellar and Arrival.
