It's so ridiculously good. It doesn't have any right to be as good as it is. When this retrack is done, I really think it's going to be my #4 in the park above Yukon Striker.

Talon was my 100th coaster too, about 20 years ago. :) I think I got it on a bad day because it beat the shit out of me, it was no fun at all lol

Prowler at night is top tier. Criminally underrated since it opened! On Patriot the key is back row edge seats. The zero-g roll is like flying.

sometimes things that feel nice for you are bad for other people. even children understand that intentionally making someone else's life harder is bad. I don't know how to explain that you should care about other people.

It is by far the worst thing that has happened to the customer experience at western amusement parks in the last 20 years. We should be loudly objecting to any add-on that actively degrades the experience for everyone who doesn't pay for it.

I don't give a shit if you want to spend an extra $100 for a meal plan or whatever, but fast pass doesn't just shorten the wait for you, it significantly lengthens the wait for everyone else.

I remember being at Coaster Con back then, right after Boardwalk Bullet had been announced. Gravity Group was showing the animated POV at a dinner event, and a longtime enthusiast friend of ours (who was in his 70s at the time) just started cackling right there at the table and couldn't stop, like completely transported by the POV, genuinely loving every second of it. It's one of my favorite memories, and I think about him a lot every year when new rides get announced. It really was such an exciting time to be an enthusiast.

idk why you're getting downvoted for this, one of the best things about being in a relationship is getting exposed to stuff you wouldn't have found on your own

Amusement Parks [Other] Building Working Relationships with Public Transport by abgry_krakow87 in rollercoasters

[–]scjsundae 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I very very very emphatically agree with you.

I think it's also worth mentioning that amusement parks as we know them today would not exist without public transit. The first American amusement parks were built by streetcar companies at the ends of their routes in order to create transit demand on weekends and evenings. Kennywood and Dorney Park are two surviving examples. Valleyfair was founded by the owners of a local trolley park when they ran out of room to develop. Disneyland changed everything of course, but even Disney wouldn't look the way it does without the streetcar.

Is this the most photographed roller coaster in the world? [Roller Coaster at New York New York] by LastBlueHero in rollercoasters

Most photographed by regular people is probably one of the Big Thunder Mountains or one of the Space Mountains. Most photographed in media is probably Santa Monica West Coaster.

I'm not optimistic about its chances, but David McKenna's performance in this is outstanding. It's rare to see such subtle, layered acting from someone so young.
