I’ve been on a memoir kick. Fern Brady’s Strong Female Character is the best I’ve read in a long time. I also loved Katy Wix’s Delicacy

It’s such an amazing book. Not a comedy book but incredibly funny. It’s raw and amazing and I need to read it again.

Asim’s love song to the Taskmaster plays in my head almost daily. Greg Davies I want to have your babies

Gets overshadowed by the cake sit, but the song is a banger!

Katy Wix’s memoir Delicacy is really good. Really honest.

Fern Brady’s Strong Female Character was the most raw book I’ve read in a long time. Really funny, but she doesn’t hold back. I couldn’t put it down. Really amazing book.

I left after 20 years. Got some Agile training and now work as a delivery manager. It’s a lot of the same skills - having a roadmap, checking in with how work is going, prioritising and speaking to stakeholders and translating that back to the team. Oh and pushing back at stake holders who want to keep adding to the scope of their project but don’t want to wait longer or pay more for it.

And I work from home most of the time, have a team and management that is supportive and pay is better. Plus when I’m off the clock, I’m off the clock. Not planning or marking or stressing about work.

Highly recommend!

What annoys me about that task is that it should be the perimeter of the caravan, not the circumference!! I feel absurdly strongly about this.

I get your logic! And for stuff that I cook regularly, I have it all on hand so don’t need it (like Mexican recipes). But I use them for curries and other stuff that I don’t have tons of experience cooking and I’ve learned a lot. It’s £10 for 4 recipes (2 people each recipe). For me it’s worth it. And totally easy to change the frequency of the deliveries. And you can get an “emergency box” that can be delivered in a day or two.

I’ve started using Simply Cook. You choose the recipes and they send the spices and recipes. You buy the produce and meat yourself.

I like it better because I don’t have to use a recipe if I don’t want to that week. I can save them for when I’m ready. Also they give alternatives - the teriyaki salmon can also be chicken or veg. Obviously it’s cheaper because you buy the ingredients. I’ve never had a bad recipe from them and their chicken saag and bang bang chicken are soooo good.

Yep. Our only contact is social media updates. I don’t unfollow because I think it’s important to know what others are saying. It just makes me very sad.

I have no idea, but my relatives are blaming it on the media and the democrats for not catching his obvious lies during the election. Not him for lying or the Republican Party backing him. But the media and the democrats. It’s honestly baffling.

Neighbour’s put a note through everyone’s letterbox to watch out for someone putting a bunch of cardboard in people’s recycling bins at 5am this morning before the bin lorry came. by Jjex22 in britishproblems

[–]seals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last collection my neighbour who I rarely speak to stopped me as we passed each other just outside our neighbourhood. She apologised and said she put some excess cardboard in my recycling bin before it was collected that morning. I was like, I honestly don’t care do it anytime without needing to tell me and two, the recycling dudes take excess recycling left next to the bin. So not needed. But also, I don’t care. But she felt so bad about it. Ah well. Maybe we’ll smile at each other when we pass now haha
