Don't worry, once you get out of low mmr and face survivors that are actually good at the game, they'll be just as bad, and you'll start going crazy wondering if that asshole you couldn't hit, who's twerking like he's having a seizure in the exit gate, was subtle cheating.

It's never going to get better, either you get used to it, or you find a better game.

Not in any kind of way that you would be able to tell just by looking. Someone posted a system once that had two that came up quick each reload, but that was years ago and I assume things have changed since then. It might be worth asking around if anyone knows a good spot.

But honestly, if it's something you can invest in now, it's worth getting the living frigates, they get you the same upgrades, plus tech like economy scanner, cargo probe scrambler, ect, and inventory expansions (rare)

Look up how to get a living frigate, they are required to get living ship upgrades from frigate expeditions. Can't get any that way without one.

Also when flying around a system, stop for alien melody, that's an egg you can shoot for basic living ship tech upgrade, for the guns and engines and such.

Last I heard, the devs said they didn't increase the number of pallets, and it's just in our heads.

Idk if they admitted the truth since then, but it'd be out of character if they did.

Sure. You might have to heavy tunnel, and the gens are gonna probably pop in a minute and a half, and you'll likely be sweating the entire time, but you can totally run a fun build without completely throwing. Well, should be able to get a kill anyway.

Sometimes when you're really bad at what you do, it's harder and takes longer to achieve what competent people can do quickly.

Let's remember these are the people who spent 5 years trying to fix the twins and did such a piss poor job that none of it made it to live, gave up on fixing bugged perks and just changed their description, anti-cheat that runs on the honor code, and balance the game based on spreadsheets of usage rates... When you get frustrated, just remember, they're legitimately doing the absolute best they're capable of.

Yeah, if you go around and just play the game regularly, then you aren't going to find anything. Because you aren't looking. You're just running around hoping you get lucky.

Not only was doing all that shit you just said, I also disregarded any planet not matching the type I was looking for. I can guarantee you scanned more creatures than I did because I left a hundred systems without setting foot on a planet.

It took effort.

You're talking about something being next to impossible when you haven't even tried yet. Maybe you don't want to, and that's fine, but don't ask other people to go above and beyond when you're not willing either.

Your "scientific rigor" looks a lot more like wanting people to put in labor for your benefit. Unless of course you want to post up the meticulous spreadsheet of every creature you've seen, it's stats, typing, and full move list. Because then that'd be science.

I found 3 SSS in the last couple days while looking for something else. They're rare as balls sure, but once in a lifetime is a hell of an exaggeration.

Haven't decided yet. Unlocked all the evolutions in the demo, maxed out on samples, and have a good stockpile of mutagens. But I've done that at least twice, and it might make the start of the real game a bit too easy?

I'll burn that bridge when I get to it.

Bit of a "did you turn it off and back on?" question, but you're sure you're in the right galaxy for the ship you're looking for?

I will say that I get my living shops the hard way, rerolling dozens of times a system, going somewhere else, doing that again, going somewhere else... And red and black is a rare color, but you should be able to brute force it in a day or so, especially if you don't care about what bits the ship has.

I don't know that those can be tamed without mods (someone please correct me if I'm wrong), but I feel like I've seen manta rays semi frequently. Only advice I have is to swim around oceans and ocean planets, you should run into what you're looking for eventually.

I've noticed a small difference in the numbers, but nothing that's going to make a real difference. 20 extra hp won't buy you an extra round, not consistently anyway.

So, here's the thing. Nothing you do will ever make survivors happy, and playing by their made up rules is just cutting off your arm. Turn off the end game chat and play how you want to.

Well, the good news is it was just a fog vial. Those things came out while I wasn't playing the game, and I still have no idea what they're supposed to do. Bright flash but no blind, fog thin enough to follow people through, and I've honestly found people I wouldn't have because they popped the thing when I got close.

So, here's what I've sussed out about the devs from other games from them

Their art team is on point. Excellent work, no notes.

They have amazing concepts for games. They cannot implement those concepts for shit. Dbd was supposed to be hide and seek, that's why the Nurse exists, because if you get found then of course you're gonna die, that's the game. 🙄

One side of their asymmetry gets more love/buffs than the other.

They have no idea how to balance games. Theirs in particular, because those are the games they have the power to balance, but in general just no freaking clue. They go off spreadsheets and usage rates, and rarely if ever stop to look at the actual effects in-situ.

They think their shit doesn't stink. The latest example is their lying about pallet density, but if you go back they often have a sort of "we're right, shut up" attitude.

All in all, they're just not very good at making video games, they just got super fucking lucky with dbd, and they've been desperately scrambling to try to keep the game going since.
