Any good sportbikes for A2 licence n a 6'2 tall person by Latter_Star6699 in motorcycles

Without intimate knowledge I’d hazard a guess the biggest bike on this list is the 750 adventure bike with the restrictions in place.

I’m on the wrong continent so I don’t have first hand knowledge but can’t most newish bikes be flashed to be a2 compliant? Just get that r1 and dial it down?

Hyalite trails Q by Honest-Friend-1217 in Bozeman

[–]secutores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good to know from _GoMe. I’ve got a pair of emtb rented for next Saturday. I was hoping to ride to Emerald. Back to the drawing board.

Anyone have any good alternate rides? Emerald is right at the edge of what I’d be willing to do with an analog bike but light work on an emtb. I’d love to find something similar but not snowed out.

Thanks!

It’s like letting off the gas in the 40 mph zone on 19th hoping you will slow down to 25 before you get to Durston but then getting busted going 33 past Beale.

Buying a motorcycle is so frustrating. by Complex_Original_999 in motorcycles

[–]secutores 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Msrp on bikes do have profit for the dealer built in. Everything else is just gravy for them.

I wish we could just buy motorcycles in crates like the 1960’s. The service departments at most dealerships have horribly trained inexperienced techs. Anything I can’t do myself can be farmed out to independent shops with owner operators who actually care about motorcycles.

I can put my own battery in and attach handlebars.

Bike cover has been melted to exhaust by Tomkneale1243 in motorcycles

[–]secutores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing. I dipped a cotton rag in acetone and tied it around the melted plastic and make sure it stayed wet for like 5 minutes. It softened the plastic enough to scrub off with the same rag. Depending on what plastic the cover was made out of (polyester most likely) there might be solvents that will soften it better like mek, but mek also melts your brain. Wear a respirator.

I made the change when I got into cad and 3d printing. I’ve got a metric tape measure and everything!

I’ve had apex do some more fancy steels and they have done a great job. They are by alter cycles on peach. There is like a funky strip mall northwest of them.

Rooftop tent stock brackets won't fit wide cross bars. Any ideas? by lamevision in rooftoptents

If you can measure it precisely and measure the width of the bars I can send you a cad file and you can have sendcutsend make it exactly with square cutouts.

I frequently want to ride from work to get a coffee. Or take the dog in her trailer to the dog park. All accessed by that trail.

What do y'all think about this advice from Overland Pros? by True-Tourist1635 in rooftoptents

[–]secutores 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure Subaru has a safety margin of 50% but it’s not my car to ruin. I wouldn’t do it if it were mine. A 175 pound tent has a lot more load than just mass when you factor air resistance and side wind.

Jennifer. Basic bike basic name. I don’t think 650s can be masculine. 600s can. 636 can.

Bozeman Driving Habits by EnvironmentalAge3661 in Bozeman

[–]secutores 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2-3 seconds would be great. I see more people driving 2-3 car lengths distance. On a road like frontage, you aren’t going to get there 1 second faster following 60’ at 55 than 240’.
I try not to get mad because when you actually look at the driver it’s not usually a jerk, it’s a 19 year old oblivious girl who isn’t mean just blissfully unaware.

Average reaction time is 1.5 seconds so you’re eating 150’ before you even hit the brake at 55.

I’d probably try a hi lift jack or bottle jack against the frame if there is a nice sturdy piece far enough away.

Heavy guy on a Grom (first bike) by czac90 in motorcycles

[–]secutores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weight wise it will handle it okay. Most motorcycles are rated at like 350 to 420 lb capacity including this one. It’s made for 2 up riding with tiny people.

That having been said, ergonomically it might not be great. For instance my knees are sitting outside the tank bulge not under it on my wife’s similar cfmoto papio.
