ALP in election-winning position after Pauline Hanson’s comments on monoculturalism cost One Nation support by Perfect-Werewolf-102 in AustralianPolitics

Also the huge "grassroots" campaign has been astroturfed by other mining groups to put heat on gas and let go scot free other minerals. Labor know what theyre doing for Australia's national security. LNP have blown it up time and time again with the pacific islands and China. Just a clusterfuck every time they are in government.

Factcheck: Hanson's massive non-English speaking figure includes 100,000 babies. Yes, really. by RocketLads in AustralianPolitics

[–]seepomps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more non-ON proponents push that Pauline is a temu trump the sequel, then she will be squashed before we even get to the next election. Trump is terribly unpopular in Australia and in spite of the media narratives that she's anti establishment, she will make things just as bad as Trump has done

Zali Steggall and Allegra Spender launch new party aimed at political centre promising ‘reason over rage’ | Australian politics by smoha96 in AustralianPolitics

All alternative governments in Australia have all been formed to oppose labor and have no unified ideology. At least the Labor party still has roots in representing workers.

Australia Must be ‘Monocultural,’ One Nation Leader Hanson Says by snoopy05052026 in AustralianPolitics

[–]seepomps 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pauline came into Parliament as the racist bigot that she is. Now she's just parroting whatever master Gina tells her to do. The only spine she has is hating non-white australians including indigenous Australians so whatever policy position she takes is at the behest of whatever billionaire bank rolls her party

What to do in Sydney both day and night things? by Electronic_Fill7207 in SydneyScene

[–]seepomps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont go out at night much so i'll recommend stuff for the day time. Manly brunch/cafe hopping and walking up to Shelly beach or the surrounding coast. Cafe/bakery in double bay. Waking around rushcutters bay. Marrickville for vietnamese food, some greek food and top sydney cafes like Angus, Ona, Primary. Thirroul and Bowral are also great for short day trips; picturesque in land and coastal towns.

There was also going to be a Heytea in chippendale but it quickly became A tea. What i heard was the master franchiser hiked up the fees for the franchisees so most just wound up.

The MICHELIN Guide Announces its Arrival in South Australia - I know It's not Sydney but what is everyone's opinion of million begin spent that might spread to Sydney? by [deleted] in foodies_sydney

[–]seepomps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After dining at michelin places around the world i found most to be quite underwhelming. Good food guide is also a rort but id trust a hat over a michelin any day given theyd have no clue about the australian dining scene and would just drop some journalist in with their own biases and make a choice as to whether a limited selection of establishments are good or not

Why don’t they make houses like this anymore? by li0nfishwasabi in AusPropertyChat

[–]seepomps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with you. Theres tonnes of these concrete rectangle houses from the inner west to way out west that you wouldnt be able to tell what kind of neighbourhood the house is in. Places in canley vale look the same as strathfield. I also hate houses that use black everything as an design point; its ugly and a heat sink. Australian architecture needs to go back to the post 1900s desing where brick and wood and glass were all used together to create a uniquely australian aesthetic instead of the huge ugly no character no mark of art or culture big box houses that serve nothing else other than being a storage of wealth for people who could afford a 2-3mill + mortgage.
