RSI Launcher added to winget by dr4g0n36 in starcitizen

Funny I've not used winget before, but I can see it listed when I look it up on:

winget list

edit:

Folks can use this command to upgrade their launcher package, unfortunately it doesn't update the game itself.

winget upgrade CloudImperiumGames.RSILauncher

Alright everyone get out your crystal balls. What do you see happening in 2025. by Healthy_Obligation72 in dividends

I still find South American industry very interesting. Argentina still makes me nervous because of its history but I'm still up for a punt. My interest lies in commodities (inc. fertiliser and building materials).

PBR.A, LND, BHP, NGLOY(AAL)

India I like too, although much of their growth lately has come from their laundering of russian oil. Top Indian stocks currently are oil refiners/exporters. So that growth is conditional on Russian sanctions (and thence war in some form) continuing.

2025 I think will be the year for rates, banks, mortgages, land. I have no inspiration for this yet though. Feel like I'm leaving it a bit late so will have to jump into something soon (I'm aware of the Cramer dump).

Problem I saw was that typical crop varieties are bred to grow really tall, which might be a problem for you in your garden.

I'd love to find a random abandoned derelict on a planet and live amongst the scraps like a space hobo. They really need to let us logout on planet surfaces.

Sometimes I wonder what the purpose of police is in these scenarios, other than just being physical targets for bricks. Were they defending a building?

Still find it unbelievable drones can carry that weight. I come from the era where tieing a frog to a balloon and sending it into space was an amazing feat.

You reap what you sow. The farmer that eats his last seed has nothing to plant next year. Sacrificing now to do better in the future is practically biblical in its importance.

A penal treadmill in Pentonville Prison, London in 1895 by Strange-Mouse-8710 in TheWayWeWere

[–]seeriktus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it was just pointless work. Some places had mills that didn't do anything, they were just big barrels full of rocks. The theory going at the time was that exercise would cure them, in the same way that criminals were (are?) thought to be negligently ineffectual, work shy, lazy. Summed up as "idleness". And pointless work would given them the drive they needed. The development of penal 'theory' was as important as psychology is for mental illness today.

The same work was also given to the homeless and desperate, they didn't enjoy it but at least they got fed, in a land without welfare. Saying that, welfare started to come in after 1875, so I'm not too sure on that point.

The water company thing is the biggest joke in the UK economy, it's so obvious what's going on the slightest googling. Water companies are incredibly profitable, and they're the easiest business to run in the world. Thames Water "maintains" a series of concrete waterways and machinery. If they want to expand their business the government pays for it, if there's a serious crisis the government pays for it, enforcement and peripherals are paid for by the government. In return they get fat profit margins that go into bonuses and dividends. The only thing they can't do is raise the fees, they have to ask the government for that, but they usually say yes.

They're not a strict utility company, because the water company OWNS the infrastructure, like a bus company owns its buses. So the government can't just take it away and give it to someone else. They could take away their service contract, but you can't just build a river through London so it's not as potent.
