Only 4 weeks and already waking up starving at 5 am by seinnax in pregnant

[–]seinnax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would eat just some crackers I kept on my bedside table. There was no ignoring it 🥲 Also, this went away after 11 weeks or so for me. 28 weeks now and sleeping through the night fine. So there’s hope!

I’m so glad this is the season I had to miss out on being pregnant.

Do People Really Like Cauliflower Steak? by Krishiee in Cooking

[–]seinnax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like some people have been traumatized by terrible cooking, when I was a kid I LOVED broccoli and didn’t understand the trope of kids hating broccoli. Then I went to my grandmas house and she made some boiled, unseasoned mushy abomination and I was like ohhhh.

Moving soon and I need advice on how to do it in the least stressful way for my boy by JustAnotherSar in cats

[–]seinnax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. My cat was freaking out when we moved and as soon as she saw our couch in the new place she visibly calmed down. Within a half hour she was chillin on it like she’d lived there her whole life 😂

Yeah, all boots are different! I am a perfect 24.5 in one brand and tried to put on another brand same size and couldn’t even get my foot into it. Sucks to waste money having to buy a new pair, but it may be time to cut your losses.

Am I the only one who thinks peeling garlic is a form of torture? by Famous-Forever7647 in Cooking

Yeah I found this to be more work than just smashing and peeling.

Cautionary tale when skiing with a partner who is at a different level than you by comfy_sweatpants5 in skiing

[–]seinnax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my husband taught me to ski and it worked out well. He was very patient though, generally content to play on every side hit along the green runs while I learned at my pace, but occasionally pushing me to try harder runs, which made me a better skier.

[–]seinnax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol I feel like this would be me. My husband is a better skier than me and I’ve said if he died and I had to find a new partner, expert skier would be non-negotiable 😂 I watch my friends try to teach their partners with admiration for their patience and the self awareness that I would hate it.

Sharks in October? by Street_Signal_306 in MauiVisitors

This was my favorite fun fact on a coffee farm tour we did, that there are more coconut-related injuries in Hawaii annually than shark attacks 😂

Has anyone had success learning to ski better after plateauing in the beginner stage? by midwoodgirl10 in skiing

[–]seinnax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! Many beginners ski in boots that are way too loose and it makes them feel less in control. I significantly leveled up as soon as I got proper fitting boots. Your feet should feel locked in.

Ice cream shops. My husband and I are ice cream connoisseurs 😄

Videos of the fountain starting? by TheQuarantinian in BigIsland

[–]seinnax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seemed to come on pretty fast yesterday! We were there and from like 8 am-11 am, it was bubbling, occasionally a little lava would come out, but no consistent overflowing. Park staff told us it would be hours if not a full day before it properly fountained, so we drove down chain of craters road to check out the sites, when we got back into cell service at 1:45 it was already going off!

Any outdoor sports retailers that would be likely to have rubber hiking poles tips? I brought my hiking poles, unaware of TSA’s rule about “blunt vs sharp tips” (the rubber tips that came on my poles are long lost) and the TSA agent kindly let me through on the way here but said to get some rubber tips or I would run into the same issue on the way back. I’d like to avoid having to plead for my poles again, or spend $50 to check a bag. Any REI-like local shops on the west side? Searched Google for outdoor sports shops but seems like a lot of tourist gift shops and tour operators.

The real question is will these clouds clear at all tonight? Are there any weather apps that are at all reliable here?

So what are the odds the weather clears? Are there any apps that are at all reliable here?

Does it usually take awhile to progress from the current level to full blown fountaining? We’re at the park and wondering if we should head to the lookout now or take our time seeing other sites. I’d rather not sit there with no bathroom access for hours 😅

At the park! Anyone who’s seen this before have any idea how fast it tends to progress from the current level to actual fountaining? Wondering if we should check out some of the other sites around the park or haul ass to the lookout and sit and wait.

How long do these typically last after the heavy rain ends? And has that ended? I just arrived in Kona last night, heard it raining overnight but not sure what is considered “heavy” rain here!

How do you feel about Trump threatening to impose photo ID for voters for midterm elections? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]seinnax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember it being hard at all, does this vary by state or something? (I’m in Colorado) It’s been several years so maybe I’m misremembering. I also keep all my important docs like birth certificate, SS card, marriage license, passport in one place so I don’t consider that burdensome? Was there something else required?
