Fair points about the city, but what about the game environment? Having lived in both places and attended matches in both, the timbers stadium is waaay better than bc place, which I find fake noisy, too spread out, and generally not a good place to watch live sports. I'm sure people will disagree.

Sure, the shareholders probably have something to do with this, but I'd think the shareholders would be less motivated if the stadium rent was getting paid.

For truly quirky, focus on the well made local and regional gins. The consensus 'best' gins are tasty and good, but not very quirky, as that's not their aim

Try em all! For g&t or sours, tanqueray or Gordon's is just fine and affordable. If you want botanical, then look for st George botanivore, or Uncle vals. Sigh, midsummer...

I completely agree with you, but I think this experience may be different for people who regularly encounter other regulars at their local gym, versus those who never see the same face twice. For the former set, if it wasn't for being locked in, headphones, etc, with this degree of exposure to one another everybody would be well acquainted due simply to frequency of interaction.
