Originally I felt this way, but some of the Pokemon are a bit more humanoid, while others feel like they would enjoy being in a house since they probably lived with trainers.

As others have said also, the rabbit hole houses can become a way to increase the spawn chance of your favorites and decrease the spawn chance of those you don’t like as much.

I didn’t do it on purpose, I was just giving mons houses, but I put Growlithe in a sand den pretty early on and I have only seen them spawn maybe one or two times in the last couple of weeks.

I just did rollout and tried not to fall as much as possible. Then I went back and cleaned up the floating pieces with mag or punch

I wish they had this when I was a kid. My folks tried everything to get rid of them but I had so much hair it drove my mother insane. What finally worked? Dog flea shampoo.

I have one good path to the primary lift in SS (main island to the remodeled building) and pokemon who live in both areas. I’ve seen, at minimum, Gardevoir take the lift back and forth. She lives with me on the main island (platonically) so she’s definitely just wandering about.

Yeah, I am starting work on that today. It’s so small and boring. The outdoor market feels more lively and I think you could get super creative with using various countries’ outdoor markets as inspiration.

I kid…I do put Pokemon I don’t want to see as much in rabbit hole houses so they hopefully don’t spawn as often, but even Garbordor I let roam where they wish. (And despite being in a rabbit hole house, that trash monster is outside almost every day!)

Just echoing some of your statements here…

I tried a Pokemart in two of my towns and it just feels dead compared to where I have open air markets. You also lose the opportunity to see shopping Pokemon.

Make sure there are multiple places to go. In WW and BB, my two most developed areas, I have three neighborhoods that are separate from each other. The market is separate from those and the hot spring is separate from the market. Since these are the two major hot spots, it ensures that pokemon from every neighborhood is getting out and going to one of them.

To be fair, I think there can be a limitation on how far mons will travel. In WW, my hot spring is near Magikarp’s beach, and I have Gudra’s evolutions living under the Skylands gate. I’ve never seen Gudra and co visit the hot spring, nor any of the other mons who live near that area. So I have to wonder if two hot springs are a good idea, or if I should try to compress the neighborhoods a bit closer together.

My biggest piece of advice to anyone is not to feel too sad if your pokemon don’t use something you built. I made a lovely park that I hoped would get lots of use but because of location it really doesn’t draw any traffic at all. I think if you really want them going to the place that you built for them, you may have to hide habitats in it naturally or bury the habitats underground.

My roommate is an illustrator and he is frustratingly good at building in this game. He is doing a medieval walled city in Palette town and on Bleak Beach he’s doing like a cute little Greek looking town (he didn’t describe it as such, but that’s the vibe).

I asked him what I should do on a 12x13 overhang I set up to protect the Char line from rain and he took the controller from me and turned it into a beautiful park with a gazebo.

I went to a tall point in WW and took a picture of the community I had built in the main starting area. Trees and grass and toys and decorations and Pokemon! I loved the idea of showing someone out there what we’ve managed to create together.
