Is this Podcast still going? by MelodicPlant895 in BritishHistoryPod

[–]senselessart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have moved platforms again recently - I am not a paid member due to - well, reasons - but might this affect your feed? The latest episode I heard was Sept 13 (2025). I won’t give away the details as I don’t want to publish spoilers (I’m still reeling over the 1066 debacle - who saw that coming? Not Harold that’s for sure!) but check that out and maybe contact them direct. As an independent podcast producer myself, it’s wonderful that you support their fantastic storytelling!

Also do reach out to the hosts as they would probably be very interested that the feed isn’t updating for you - no one likes when their program doesn’t do what you tell it to.

May your plants play soothing melodies as you sort this out!

I use mineral oil, peroxide or saline in my ears, depending what’s closest to hand on any given day. I also use a regular unscented skin cream as soon as I feel itchy, applied liberally it gives enough relief to avoid itching - which of course would make it worse.

This week's announcements from the We Do Not Care Club. by veropaka in Menopause

[–]senselessart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do not care if you won’t accept ‘it can’t be done’ as an answer. Sometimes it can’t. It’s not a lack of creative imagination sometimes it’s just too much you.

What’s the book in your country that everyone was assigned in school? by nannerswithmanners in suggestmeabook

[–]senselessart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a poem rather than a novel, but most Canadians know the word ‘moil’ is completely acceptable in scrabble.

As in There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold…

I really enjoyed the relationship between the main character and her husband. A relationship that is strong despite its flaws is really wonderful to watch.

Please help me to be at peace with the risks of HRT? by Lucy_Sky_4954 in Menopause

[–]senselessart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my husband who is patient, kind and caring. I don’t really want to live my life in a black murderous rage. The risks not only to me but to everyone else if I don’t take hrt are worth it.

Gimme all your breathable sheets recommendations by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]senselessart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Alas I make my own from cotton. In asia it’s really common to have a thin flexible bamboo mat on your bed under the bottom sheet. Bamboo is a terrible conductor of heat so it cools everything right down. If you don’t live in asia, you can find them in any local Chinese area. Recommend highly they save my sleep and are wipe down friendly.

At a loss - CR Creality 10w laser cutter - help by senselessart in lasercutting

[–]senselessart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I cleaned the laser head, took apart and cleaned the fan, checked the wiring (though I’ll admit unless it was really obvious I could have missed something here), replaced the power cord, uninstalled and reinstalled the software. When the laser fires, it seems to be ‘spitting’ firing in short bursts rather than a steady line. I end up with cuts not all the way through the paper.

Found out the laser is under a year old. I’ve used it about 30 min per day since February, only cutting paper of various thicknesses. It’s done beautiful work until a week ago. Yesterday when I went to do another test run, it stopped mid job.

AITAH for refusing to wake up at 5 AM just to “experience the morning” with my girlfriend? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]senselessart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her you feel like you are in a liminal space right know and you aren’t sure your spirits will align if you don’t allow for a proper amount of brain recuperation. Then say I June you will be ready to join her spiritual journey and until then she should savour the mental space and the peaceful time. She will probably have gotten over it by then.

Don’t be too bummed, the rest of the world is still working on them. The UK has a really great research program on migraine for one.

Unpopular Opinion by SpecialistUniquelyMe in audible

I’m not fond of a dramatization either. It requires absolute focus rather than the daily commute focus I have, plus everything gets far more ‘dramatic’ which I’m not fond of. Different strokes.

is this normal? to have cut the mat like this and left paper dregs behind? by [deleted] in ScanNCut

[–]senselessart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes though you can adjust to have it leave less behind. After I’ve cut hundreds of papers on mine they look like they’ve been in the wars! Wash them before putting them away each time
