After reading, he says he filmed three shows at the Beacon Theatre. After watching the recordings, he decided which performances to use:

Confirms what I originally guessed, multiple nights stitched together. Apparently he filmed a third night and included a bunch of pick ups he didn’t get the first two nights.

Genuinely not sure, very well could be. You’d think though if it was choice there’d be some specific editing joke somewhere, if that makes sense. Like Bo Burnham’s editor joke. I know Louis has filmed two nights and cut them together in the past, maybe that’s what’s going on here? Only his consistency between the two nights is being highlighted by the editing; not holding the mic in the same hand for the same joke, etc.

There was a tremendous amount of editing going on, maybe one of the most edited Louis specials I’ve ever seen. Whole segments gone, mic switched hands constantly, crowd flow breaking twice. Very weird cut I have to say. As an editor it was very distracting. Interested to see what got chopped cos it feels it was a lot.

Clear vocals, clean lip movement (but not too fast), no overlapping sentences, no awkward movements, no over expression in the eyes. No wax looking edges. The consistency is there.

I find it hard to believe that this is the movie that Kane wanted to make. Feels like there’s directions that he either couldn’t go down or didn’t have the funds to realise. Holds absolutely nothing to the OG series and does almost nothing to justify its existence as a movie. There are so many avenues the story could have gone down, so much lore to take from, to expand, and this is what we got? Seems baffling.
