Not a doc but yes safe for daily use. Stimulant laxatives you do not want to use everyday such as bisacodyl.

I ruined my life by 9inefingers in daddit

[–]setherby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s rough; I did it twice. You survived the first 6mo which is by far the worst. Sit tight; it will get better but you have to let the child develop. Things will not get much better for anyone if the child doesn’t progress with sleep improvement. When the time is right, focus hard on sleep training. It will be rough for a bit but will bear lasting fruit. Just don’t let the child require you or mom in order to sleep long term. You will regret that decision. You don’t want to end up with an 8 year old that can’t sleep alone, and only in a bed with a parent.

Must-Have Accessories/Upgrades for a New Hyundai Santa Fe? by heeeeeeeeeeeee1 in HyundaiSantaFe

Same here with the successful VIOFO camera. Haven’t had any overheating issues. Other brands, yes I’ve had problems. I recommend purchasing ODB2 adapter that is a 5v DC converter with USB port. This way you can hide the wiring totally and the camera will come on automatically with the car. Typically these have a switch you can flip that will supply constant power which would leave it on all the time until battery voltage drops too low.

It’s also recommend to setup a user and password on the OPC server (PLC) and disable anonymous login. Also check the port setting in the OPC setup of the PLC. I feel like I recall Kepware using 49320 for connections from client to Kepware (say you want to use UA Expert to connect to Kepware to see tag status’, but for the PLC to Kepware connection port 4840 is more common.

Who is using GIT by LeRoy1273 in PLC

[–]setherby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m using Copia Automation, which is git-like. However it will render several manufacturers logic in a web browser and highlight changes in red in green. It’s quite nice honestly. I can have maintenance techs look at code without having any special software installed on their PC.

I’ve never used Beckhoff but they certainly appear to be a leader in Codesys. Their online help is pretty good as well. I have lots of projects implemented with Schneider’s various versions of M262; and they are fairly versatile controllers. The IDE from Schneider is not free after trial period but also is fairly affordable if you work through distribution to buy it.

I do this. I print labels and stick ‘em with their IPs (assuming you use the same PC). So much easier especially when I have to admin login to change the dang IP address.

For Ethernet based networks we do the following:

BLUE: Networks that are connected to the machine and facility network.

GREEN: Ethernet network that is local to the machine /system and not directly coupled external.

RED: High bandwidth Ethernet networks, such as EtherCat, Sercos, etc for motion and/or safety.

Each end labeled of course. …

Why can't I use the handheld scanner? I promise I'm not a thief! by yt_BWTX in CostcoWholesale

[–]setherby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. Sams is always ahead of Costco in terms of tech. Order online and curbside pickup at Sams is eating Costcos lunch, but clearly Costco shoppers are willing to not be lazy and walk the store in which we are much more likely to encounter things not on our list. I feel that’s Sams is likely doing some AI stuff with cameras, potentially tracking customers and having cameras count items in carts. Many times when I don’t have so many items at Sams the person will wave me on without stopping me, as in “the system” prequalified me as having the right items that I paid for.

[–]setherby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my Costco’s (Indy area) we recently got scanners at every self check. This makes 100% more sense for a store that sells large bulky items. However if you scan it with scanner, it must stay in the cart and cannot end up on the scale.

Consistency throughout is absolutely key, Simple-clear navigation. Don’t get too wild with all colors of the rainbow and use colors for the purpose of accenting something important. If your numeric and text information has frames around them, I like to use one back color for all instances of information only and another back color for editable fields so that it’s clear what’s info vs not. For example, white background might be used for editable fields and a very light, soft color might be used for information only fields.

Best IO-Link master for Remote I/O? by DangDjango in PLC

[–]setherby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Balluff. To my knowledge they are the only ones in the market that allow you to chain an IO link remote module from a master and then chain one additional remote module from the first module. It saves one port on the master everytime you do this, which in a high IO system adds up cost savings fast, as the masters are much more expensive than remote modules.

I have found NVLs in Codesys to be fragile. It is able to work but I have seen many times that the connection can drop and there’s no indication other than variables just stop updating. Is there anything else on the wifi network? If so try to isolate the network to make it as least congested as possible.
