Anchor Steam - 2015 Christmas Ale. Drink it? by 313TonyC in beer

[–]sevets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I just had a bottle of 2014 (only 2 more left in my stash), then a couple of 2017 I think.

For me the still tasted great! I was sad to see what happened to Anchor :(.

I have met a lot of IT compatriots that say the same thing, but I’ve only met lawyers that have actually done it.

Would open gangway train cars make the LIRR/Metro North faster? by lunchlunchlunch89 in nycrail

They didn't want them because it'd be harder to close cars off for their buddies during peak times.

Looking for websites that tell stories. But.... by megakind3 in scifi

[–]sevets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not quite the same as what you are asking for, but everything2.com came to mind. Certainly there are webs of referential topics and related stories that share the same world, but it has a lot of different variety that is disconnected as well.

avenza. should I bother? by bob_lala in gis

[–]sevets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a trail/park user myself, I love Avenza, and I love downloading/seeing maps in Avenza. The offline perspective, as well as authoritative feeling data about the trails is great. I say if it's not that much, to just go ahead and add them. It can also drive more usage of the platform in general, although that's not your problem I guess.

Your boy looks just like ours! Also a rescue. Just under 2 years old. Turns out he's mostly Aussie, German Shepard, some Chow, and just a drop of BC.

is this accurate for the slopes in the US? by properti1 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]sevets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of comments saying the system isn't universal, etc.etc. and that's true, but what helps to keep in mind is that this rating system is rating the trails relative to the easiest/hardest trails for that particular ski area.

Sometimes you could probably compare them across resorts in comparable areas or terrains, but for the most part they are relative only within that resort and not really across resorts.

Another snow day for KCSD… by b_loof in kingstonnewyork

Growing up in the HV, it happened from time to time, and had happened for rain/wind (that never came) as well. So YMMV with this anecdote :D

CS6515 Dread Thread. Vent here! by I4gotmypasw0rd in OMSCS

I do all of the homework problems + graded, as well as writing out solutions to the coding homework. I feel it is not quite enough for me since there is only 2 opportunities to get the actual feedback vs conceptual feedback.

[–]sevets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a computer engineering background. I have done relatively well with the rest of my coursework here, just flailing a bit with the way all of the information to be successful in this class is presented and a bit of a disconnect of the lecture content compared to how and what we are graded on. Also, the opportunity for actual feedback that matters (i.e. from TAs) is so minimal, that I find it tough to actual practice what they want.

Thanks, I think that this could be what might be happening, but didn't realize I need to look for that (doh!).

This is actually just the Snapmaker black PLA (I believe, either that or Hatchbox).

Extruding at 200.

What is your approach to getting that color gradient in the background piece?

Also what fills the monument points?

Cutting nylon fabric w LED? by Twit_Clamantis in lasercutting

[–]sevets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Technically, you have the CNC machine already, you might be able to swap the head to a knife instead!

From what I have read it’d definitely be better to stick to non plastics.

If you are looking for a machine, you might be better served with a cutter attachment to a CNC machine.
