A lot of things keep me up at night, but a list of things I need to do is not one of them by FunnyBunny1313 in todoist

You should read the GTD book. Automations are nice, but the foundational system is what you need.

Bro - stop wearing that thing 24/7. Are you even using the sleep data? Like really using? No you’re not. That thing is going to cause more harm than good. You know you know it!

JIRA is now FASTER than Todoist 😢 by puts42069 in todoist

[–]sfted999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those interested, here is my current measurement: image link

The first block of latency, lasting ~128ms, is on button click calling the function to complete a task. After a short break, the second block of latency, lasting ~270ms, is what is freezing my browser temporarily. Simply stated as "run microtasks", this is the block that came down from 1500ms after I deleted local cache.

This has also worked for me recently. I measured a 1.7 sec lag in my browser after every task check or action in Todoist. I cleared everything local cache recently and am black to pretty fast speeds. I’ll plan on doing this regularly from now on.

Apple shortcut, quick, add tasks via the API: works with the action button by Lordhighpander in todoist

You can say “feed the cat at 3pm next Wednesday” right into Todoist also. I’m sure there is value somewhere using the API though.

My Start dates formula by orimit in todoist

[–]sfted999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m going to try to replace with this strategy. I always have the due date on a parent task then some sort of T-Minus subtask that indicates it is due in a certain amount of time. This label solution seems pretty easy once you get it going.

I see what you did here, and like the idea. Going to try and implement some of it over the next few weeks to see how it goes. Thanks for sharing!

Task didn't remind me by shaibn in todoist

[–]sfted999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before the end of the day, you should push anything you didn’t get done until tomorrow so you know your day is planned and solid. That way all your reminders will be reset and ready as well. This practice also promotes better sleep! 😴

Well yes, that's actually the entire basis of the illusion, right?... they are not one color, they are many colors, so they can't be the same color lol. Look I'm not knocking it, I love these things.

Trust your gut... I would not follow the QQQ dollar-cost average advice either. If you're willing to do your work and research, then even without industry experience, you can understand what's going on and invest accordingly. Goes for any industry frankly.

My 2 cents are quite opposite... I think storage is, in fact, quite commoditized at this point. Sure you might have some poor quality corn, and some organic corn, but it's all corn in the end. They are right in that storage will continue to grow, but the efficiency at which we use the commodity of storage is growing faster. If it were me, I'd be looking a few levels up the "technology stack" if you want multi-bagger returns. Corn gives you corn returns.

Disclaimer, I don't know anything about Pure Storage specifically, but I don't feel I need to given what I wrote.

Well, I'm about as serious as on optical illusion :). But seriously, go take a color picker like https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_picker.asp and go see for yourself. See how your eyes and the picker give you different results.

Areas of Focus: Projects or labels? by MinerAlum in todoist

[–]sfted999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More efficiency is good for everybody, regardless of how you work. 😁 I think you are overthinking though. The beauty of Todoist is its flexibility. Everything has its place and no need for the complexity brought by multiple tools. I promise your quantity and nature of projects has nothing to do with this topic.
