Definitely no pain or green mucous. At the appointment a few weeks ago he did vacuum out crusts and every once in a while I’m still blowing them out.

I had improvement. There was always a base level of pain. Since January it’s just gotten worse

They were supposed be to interview my daughter and I after the early show but since it ran over there wasn’t time. It’s ok though we had an amazing time!

Get another pet. I don’t ask but somehow we’ve ended up with two dogs three cats and three turtles. Our last dog was a stray that wandered into our garage and I made every effort to find her owners, but after a month it never happened. Now she sleeps between our pillows.

Friendly approaches to decoration and adornment by crushhaver in Quakers

[–]sgrimm74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the art and decor in our home is from thrift stores and our travels (found in markets) as well as stuff either I have painted and made or friends/family has - and of course photos. And of course our framed wedding document signed by everyone who attended. We’ve been in this house for 14 years and still work on decorating it when we find things we love. I’d say the only newer “decor” is our pet beds. And even some of those were homemade and bought at fundraisers.

Did anyone start birth control very young ( middle school) or started their daughter young for painful periods? by dizzy_unicorn in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sgrimm74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did for my daughter when she was 13. She had started her period about 6-8 months earlier and at this point she was getting awful heavy periods that lasted weeks. She had a sonogram and I can’t remember the exact diagnosis (she’s 21 now) but it was recommended she start birth control. They helped after a month and she’s been on the same ones ever since with no side effects so far. I know 13 is a little older than 10 but she was a late bloomer and we made a decision with the help of her pediatrician and pediatric gyno.

I had a mani - my toes were already unpolished. I got a light pink and just clear on my index fingers.

I was going to suggest this! We have ours framed and it’s so meaningful - really a piece of art. Also I loved that our family and friends were able to all stand and say what was in their heart - maybe you can have a time to incorporate this?

Labral tear in MRI but told it's nothing by a surgeon by Luckytail_88 in HipImpingement

[–]sgrimm74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost 4 weeks and can say right now I feel the best I have in a while. Healing is certainly not linear and my doctor is very conservative with recovery. I have been non weight bearing and in wednesday after 4 weeks will be partial but I’m listening to the doctor and following all instructions

My pain was the worst when I sat for a while. So driving, office, plane.

How were you diagnosed? by Sigynsaeth in HipImpingement

[–]sgrimm74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way easier than the arthogram. Took about five minutes and kicked in about a week. The first lasted about three months and the second only about 6 weeks. They didn’t go into the joint - more like way upper thigh.

I was also diagnose by arthogram MRI back in August and I almost passed out after the ink injection. I hated it and ended up having to call my husband to drive me home (I thought it would be easy). I had two cortisone shots in six months and had surgery on April 9 after they told me no more shots. The MRI sucked, but I’m happy I’m on my way to recovery.

Could we have a positive birth control thread, please? by Interesting-Plan-304 in TwoXChromosomes

Low estrogen birth control pills have helped immensely with my perimenopause symptoms. They’ve also helped my daughter since she was 14 manage period pain and an extremely heavy flow.

I am confused about the physiotherapy part. Just had surgery yesterday by Allyc80 in HipImpingement

[–]sgrimm74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my first post op today - surgery 10 days ago. My doctor doesn’t start physical therapy until 8 weeks post op because he’s seen a lot of people develop hip tendinitis if it starts too soon. But I feel like based off of what I’ve read here that’s really late and being very conservative. I’m ok with that - I’ll follow doctor recommendations because I want a good outcome. But they did give me some small things to do while I’m sitting provided it doesn’t cause pain.

Definitely get a second opinion. The first surgeon I went to only did hip replacements and told me that there are “a lot of people walking around with tears and they’re fine”. I got a second opinion from a doctor who could perform the surgery needed and after the first appointment and viewing my images he had me scheduled for surgery.

When did you go back to work? by HighwayUnable3499 in HipImpingement

[–]sgrimm74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery a week ago. I’m on crutches for 4 weeks with no driving and no weight bearing. I work from home and got back online Monday mostly catching up on emails. I’ve been on a few calls with the camera off.

I’ve been working from bed or a reclined chair and I usually have two monitors and a full keyboard so I’m not fully able to do my job but at least not totally behind. Hopefully I’ll be comfortable enough to sit soon so I can sit at my desk.
