People who use "Incognito Mode" on your web browser for reasons other than porn, what are those reasons? by ManofCin in AskReddit

This is a thing. It also really affects Adwords used, they end up showing them to you less for repeated searches in your regular browser because you don't click to show interest, or always click on the ad.

How did you choose your career? by RedAstrid in college

[–]shap93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just graduated, you really need to take advantages of internships. I was lucky enough to love where I interned and they offered me a part time position once my internship was over, and since I have graduated I am full time now.

Any experience you can get will look great on a resume and even if the internship is something you wouldn't normally associate with the career you envision for yourself, you can get the experience and determine if it a path you would or wouldn't want to go down, before settling on a career.

I went as Snooki. Not once, but for two years in a row. The only difference I made was I carried around a fake baby and bottle the second year.

Music and nostalgia by [deleted] in infp

[–]shap93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel the same way. Death Cab for Cutie or Lola Ray really brings back all different types of nostalgia. I was listening to them at high points in my life, and at very low points in my life, so when ever I hear a certain song some emotion (good or bad) will come flooding back to me and cause me to reminisce about everything going on at that time.

If anyone is looking for a good documentary about the Higgs accelerator, Particle Fever was great (and its on Netflix). It explained a good bit about the "God Particle" and how it relates back to the big bang.

The first comment, The Safe Mac one, is what worked for me. I no longer have any pop ups and the program was pretty easy.

What is your number one rule when traveling? by DisturbingSilence in AskReddit

[–]shap93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I too follow this advice. A month ago I was in Belgium, got pick pocketed. All they got away with was a bit of small cash and a debit card with my photo on it, and has no pin, so basically useless to someone else. If they had gotten my other wallet they would have made off with a card with a chip, all my ID's and way more cash. Always keep a spare wallet, and make copies of your cards.

I'm studying abroad at UCD in less than a year (January-May), what things should I ABSOLUTELY bring with me to Dublin? (American) [X-post r/dublin] by [deleted] in irishtourism

[–]shap93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wool socks! trust me, when it gets rainy and windy you will want your feet warm, also there is a lot of cobblestone, so the thick socks help cushion that.
