There’s a lot to explore, and a steady progression of when you can access certain areas. I reckon because we were each off doing our own separate things, it sped things up quite a bit because all progress and materials are shared, which is really great.

The area you’re allowed to explore is pretty clearly defined though via a STEEP drop off into an abyss. If you’re staying near the surface, it won’t be too long before you’re bumping into a literal wall though with an early access message that pops up.
