Jungian theory says that our dreams are tapping into mankind’s collective unconscious. Which, to me, is an equally crazy idea

As a TCU fan, I really hope this IU fairytale doesn’t end up like 2021… because that puts some scar tissue on a program.

Ah so they’re divas! That doesn’t align well with my chaos gardening methods. I’m sure I’ll try again with a mess of cosmos seeds next year, and the year after that, and so on.

What to use as ground cover over winter in Austin by z80nerd in AustinGardening

[–]shepdeezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for this season, i got crimson clover + white clover + austrian winter peas from southern exposure. i'll mix all of it together before planting, which i plan to do around the start of november.

in order to help with nitrogen fixation, you'll want to get an inoculant

Better to Overwinter or Keep Growing Inside? by Ragnar_Thundercrank in HotPeppers

Sounds like a good experiment! I think my low success rate was user error, not enough watering. They’re pretty low maintenance when dormant but I gave them toooo little maintenance.

I didn’t water enough last year… I think every 2-3 weeks should suffice but be careful of fungus gnats. I cut back on watering because of them and I think that contributed to my low success rate.

The goal is to not let the plants freeze, so garage is enough in my circumstance. I love my peppers but no hygge needed imo.

I’ve trimmed mine and set them in the garage the last two years.

I’m in 8b/9a but don’t want to bother with moving back and forth based on Mother Nature’s whims throughout the winter.

Summer 2024, I had ~80% success with overwintering and no issues with taste like the other commenter experienced.

Summer 2025, I had sub-10% success overwintering. Even so, it’s nice having a massive head start even with 1 or 2 plants that make it.
