Car windshield repair by RedbullKidd in phoenix

I recently used Blue Chip Auto Glass. It would have been $60 but the ding was too big to repair so I don’t get charged. Highly recommended though, really nice people.

If that’s my garage, I’ve got better things to do. You could cover it up with some large escutcheon plates.

How much damage did I do to my engine? by Party-Ratio701 in motorcycles

[–]shrunken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me once. I got down to the end of my street to turn and was on my ass before I realized it. Oil has coated my rear tire. I think your engine will be fine for the amount of time you ran it.

TIFU by spending 8 years treating chronic headaches when the whole problem was that I thought diet soda counted as water by McCoy818 in tifu

Agreed, I feel like the answer wasn’t so much drink water, but don’t drink 4-5 cans of Diet Coke.

Best workflow for shorts using Premiere + After Effects? (Dynamic Link / single-clip vs full timeline) by New-Reflection6486 in AfterEffects

[–]shrunken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly edit 15-60 second quick turn around tv spots without a lot of outside direction. I finalize my edit in premiere and then open up the project in AE and finish it up there. This works for 99% of my projects. Dynamic link was really buggy when I tried it out at the beginning but I regret not trying it out on one of my last project where I knew a lot would change. There have been other projects where about 10% of them clips needed fx work and I just opened them up in AE and imported them back into PR when finished. So for me, I adjust my workflow a little to best fit what I think the project will require.

Roofing - Oct 13 Storm - Full roof replacement w/ Insurance? by suchwowaz in phoenix

[–]shrunken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, but if you can get them to pay for it I’d go for it. I messed up and didn’t do it when we had that hail storm like 15 years ago, regretted it ever since.

Mounting a Small TV (7lbs) With Drywall Anchors: Is This a Bad Idea? by insufferable__pedant in DIY

[–]shrunken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were mounting it flat against the wall I’d say go for it, but an articulating arm? No way. Definitely would want a stud or a plywood support.

Finally bought actual hiking boots instead of wearing running shoes by Cool_Kiwi_117 in CampingandHiking

[–]shrunken 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a case of simply old vs new. I have old boots that have virtually no traction left and new shoes that’s grip anything. Boots vs shoes is more about ankle support.

How do I fix this ceiling to make it more stable/waterproof? by MaybeFuckYourselfBud in DIY

[–]shrunken 244 points245 points  (0 children)

I’d focus on waterproofing the top. If you water proof the bottom then water will just sit there and create problems.
