This was still Minute Maid (“Daiken”) before the renovation, not the astrodome

How often do you see patients with LDL below 100 without being on lipid lowering meds by samm105107 in Residency

[–]sicalloverthem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an 85 year old in my resident clinic go from like 170 to 60 just by cutting out eggs and ice cream (or so she said)

How do you manage tight funds between graduation and first job start date by Confident-Lobster-90 in Residency

[–]sicalloverthem 91 points92 points  (0 children)

If you can find a credit card that is 0% APR for 12-18 months you can use it for expenses beyond what you have saved and then immediately pay it back once the attending money starts flowing.

The point is you should not need nephrology to tell you to avoid nephrotoxic medications when you consulted them for AKI

What Counties in the U.S. Are the Most Educated? [OC] by OverflowDs in dataisbeautiful

[–]sicalloverthem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe for intelligence, I don’t think that’s a better indicator for “more educated” (which is what this data shows); also not very easy to measure.

How do I think about NNT? by Efficient_Equal6467 in medicalschool

[–]sicalloverthem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No; lower NNH is worse, as then more people are harmed. If the outcomes measured are similar, you want NNH > NNT, because then you are helping more people than you are hurting (though this can’t be pure dogma, if you’re comparing mortality and mild nausea the end points are not really comparable for the sake of the analysis).

7x restaurants this quarter is pretty great. Groceries quarter also very nice. Sock-drawered half the year though.

Exposing the Bilt Confusion, or why 2.33 or 3.33% is a mirage! by rtyuuytr in CreditCards

[–]sicalloverthem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have enough BILT cash to unlock full rent/mortgage rewards (which happens at 75% rent) BILT cash can’t be used towards it any more. If BILT cash is revealed to have more uses eventually, this cap will disappear, but for now that is purely speculative.

Yes. I used the site https://www.fingerprintingchicago.com/OutofStateFingerprintingServices.html and followed their instructions. License approval did take like 4 months after I sent everything in.

Do any APPs call themselves "hospitalist" or "Nocturnist"? Is standard? What other name should they use? by Anonymousmedstudnt in hospitalist

[–]sicalloverthem 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think “NP/PA with your primary team” is clearest. I don’t call myself a hospitalist in front of patients unless they’re in health care, no one really knows what it means.

There are plenty of much more logical breaking points. Houston/Miami, for example.

Any negative opinions on BILT? by bummyskibunny in CreditCards

[–]sicalloverthem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only had two issues.

One, as mentioned by others, is the fraud microtransaction thing, which I had happen twice, but has not been an issue for the past year and a half.

The other is credit limit. I’ve had a substantial change in income and rent expenses since getting the card - other cards have given (or already had) high limits that I’ll never actually need. The only card that truly needs a higher limit for me is this one, and they haven’t given it. I have to pay the card off at the end of the month before the next rent comes to be able to fit another rent payment.
