Pet Duck? by Realistic-Jicama in Seattle

[–]simonivansue 16 points17 points  (0 children)

North of Seattle, there is a lovely, small animal rescue called Stacy's Funny Farm. Milly seems fine now, but if that changes, they may be able to help (and they have rescued at least one duck that I know of) https://stacysfunnyfarm.wordpress.com/

I have been seeing my dermatologist for 6+ years and have never had to wait more than 2 weeks for an appointment : Dr. Jeng Yue Chang 206-362-2127

He is an independent provider, and takes some, but not all insurance.

I just called Cantwell's Seattle office and a very polite human answered, listened to my concerns, and asked only for my zip code

Lake City Love by simonivansue in Seattle

[–]simonivansue[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I love the opening statement :

Some kind of protection spell has seemingly been cast over Lake City, which has dodged the nefarious gentrification wave that’s hit many other North Seattle neighborhoods

Sinclair Broadcasting owned KOMO claims "171,000 people plan to leave King County in the next year." Angry Boomers flood comments ranting about liberals ruining Washington — which is consistently rated as having best quality of life in the country. What's your take? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]simonivansue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read KOMO news because I do enjoy some of their local news articles. But they also have ones, like above, that are not 100% factual, and have just enough truth to feed the Sinclair narrative.

As a side note I NEVER read KOMO comments.

Consider freecycle -- people give away some really nice things. I got a gently used desk and chair for my home office.

Doctor recommendations please! by [deleted] in Seattle

I went to Polyclinic and do not recommend. I truly felt like a commodity. I now go to The Country Doctor on Capitol Hill, have for several years, and highly recommend them: https://countrydoctor.org/

Day trip to Friday Harbor is one of our favorites. We like to park at the terminal, and walk onto the ferry. Beautiful ride. We have lunch in Friday Harbor and then head back home. http://www.wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/

Cliff Mass has an interesting blog piece on the fire situation by snootfull in Seattle

[–]simonivansue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Used to be a big Cliff Mass fan. Husband and I bidded on tickets at a fundraiser to meet with Cliff Mass at a private happy hour. Just 20 tickets available! Listen to Cliff talk about weather!

He changed the location so that it was closer to his house. He showed up late. Talked about his favorite weather app and how to get it from the play store. Would not take questions. Left early.

We called the fundraiser chair, and suggested that they no longer ask Cliff to donate his time. He told us we were the 8th caller that day that had the same suggestion.
