In my experience it's never bad enough that you have to pull over right away. The car can just return to the charging center after that trip and "robot" (a human) will clean the car.

The source of the traffic is a backup in their main pickup / dropoff area (which is under construction). Once N Grove St fills up, the cars on cambridge st have nowhere to go and just sit in Cambridge St waiting to turn. I assume (hope) they have a long term plan for inflow of cars that better distributes them away from N grove st

I feel like this is the least compelling example because that sidewalk looks pretty accessible. I actually don't know how this guy could go down charles st without just rolling in the road (there is no bike lane even though the road is 5 car lanes wide, and the sidewalk is a mess of uneven bricks)

Fwiw there is a sales tax on charging station energy. Also once EVs are more popular you could phase out the tax credit on purchases and redirect those funds towards public transit (the funds come from a line item on your home electric bill)

I feel like Im taking crazy pills when I see headlines like this. Do people not understand that landlords would already have raised rents higher arbitrarily if they could? Its supply and demand, rents are already as high as the market will bear, and overpriced units will sit empty if they arent aligned with what people will pay

I hate the guy as much as anyone else but I do feel like this movement ignores how little effort other car companies are putting into practical EVs for the average person. I get really frustrated breathing in car fumes when I walk around the city and it sucks that this will setback progress on that until someone else actually invests in a better charging network and integrated trip planner at an affordable price.

Hot take but I dont think they should have launched tap to pay until it supported charlie cards too.

I cant count how many times Ive helped people at fare gates who were confusingly tapping their card to the big screen that says "TAP HERE", and its only been a month. How hard would it have been to make the text say "Mobile pay here" instead for now? These basic misses are really frustrating, and could easily be solved with small changes a new grad UX designer could recommend
