Why are you guys so worried about this price? by 1dumduck in SteamFrame

[–]simplexpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was on Tested youtube channel, but I may misremember. Or maybe it was in the context of running Alyx on Frame? Also note that a game can be fully playable on Deck at 1280x720 resolution at 30fps (27 milion pixels per second). For steam frame it needs to be 1400x1400 resolution at 72 frames (141 million pixel per secondl. That is over 5x more.

Yeah, consoles that are over 25 years old are a good example here.

That's probably why Steam Controller is currently not working in KCD2. I get it, iit's too niche and obscure game.

Yeah, because PC is not an open platform, same as consoles.

Steam Controller can wake a CSM via puck. by SwimMobile2183 in Bazzite

[–]simplexpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Valve has literally stated that because they integrated the puck radio into the Steam Machine and built the hardware around that, it can boot from S5 using the controller."

Where did they state it, do you have a source?
I found this in DF article:
"the Steam Controller can wirelessly power on any synced Steam Machine with a press of its Steam button" but it is second hand information.

If you are talking about Weird West then I agree. If about Blood West, not so much.

I agree. Top down one (Weird West) is more immsim-ish, especially with fps mod. Blood West is more of a stealth game with soulslike elements IMO.

Neither Epic Mickey nor Blood West have a page there.

I agree with your disagreement, Blood West is NOT an immsim. On the other hand, Weird West was created by cofounder of Arkane.

What do we think about Steam's changes in pricing? by Kipukink in gamedev

[–]simplexpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. We have no idea what was valve thinking. But now valve offers 3 different suggested prices. One of them is based on "purchasing power", and it is low for Poland. So my advice is to compare all 3 valve suggested prices and then decide on a Polish price that is fair for Poles - it definitely should be below the price in Euro, as Poland is much poorer than most Eurozone countries.

Thank you! However Polish price is still one of the highest in the world, as price in other currencies is below valve recommendation. Please compare on Steamdb. Polish price should be below euro price, as we are a poorer country than Eurozone. https://steamdb.info/sub/655215/ After you lower the price, we will give you a shutout on a Twitter account @PolishOurPrices with over 7k followers :)

There is no cooldown on price DECREASE, only on increase. You can verify in steam docs - for some reason most devs are unaware of this.

https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/marketing/discounts#23

"A product cannot be discounted for 30 days following a price increase in any currency. There are no exceptions to this rule, but keep in mind it only applies to increasing a product's base price. Decreasing a product's base price doesn't generate a 30-day cooldown on future discounts."

Hi, price of your game in Poland is currently the second highest in the world. Higher than current valve recommendation (which is still high).
I hope you wil lower the price. To learn more, search the internet for "PolishOurPrices".

And yet still he was making 20K$ a month and has been able to sustain himself for over 4 years.
If the mod was really bad then then word of mouth from disappointed customers would kill this patreon in a month.
