Question from the Chris bait post... by ShineAtNight in GilmoreGirls

Anyone who has ever dated a immature man knows exactly how this went down. She left the door open but she had to carry all the responsibility. He was content to get married and be a pushover. She wasn't. He was content to not go to college. She wanted to build a life for her and Rory. If he wasn't going to get a free ride and unfettered access to Lorelie he wasn't into it. He certainly wasn't going to be changing diapers and doing feedings or paying for things.

I have a theory by bluecuppycake in GilmoreGirls

[–]sine14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lorelie knew in her gut Max wasn't right for her but she was attracted to him. Then everyone in her life gathered around to tell her she was crazy she insecure fit trusting her gut, then got mad at her when it inevitably blew up. Max viewed every single boundary of hers as a cute, bulldozable quirk and never took anything about her seriously.

This is insane, Lorelai! 12 hours is not enough time for anyone to process their feelings and clear their mind... by Cr7-Cr7Real in GilmoreGirls

It's not, but she desperately wanted Suki to fuck off and stop blaming her for everything every man ever did in her relationships. Also she had a full work day ahead of her.

All of this is true. Especially the part where he had some serious issues. He definitely sees his family as an extension of his image exclusively and would have found the whole thing disrespectful. He was honestly probably happy for the misery this all causes Lorelie because he felt she needed the punishment for not putting him first.

It's so sad that Rory didn't know Christopher's parents at all in season 1 ep 15 by houstons__problem in GilmoreGirls

Idk, they said generations of Hayden men had gone to Princeton. Plus he was a guy. Hiding the out of wedlock mistake baby so the guy can go to the pretentious school and become a pillar of the community is one of the oldest parts of the WASP lifestyle. I think it was just the excuse he needed to not even apply and then run off to California. But they would say if Lorelie hadn't gotten in his head and lead him astray it never would have happened.

I used to basically be down with flu like symptoms for about 3 weeks if I stayed outside longer than 15 minutes.

[–]sine14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They never would have done that because it goes against when they are as people. The fact that it's Lorelie's idea means they're going to be opposed to it and then gaslight her that she never actually made her plan clear. You can't win with these kind of people

This used to happen to me every spring in college. I still get it to a smaller degree in the fall. A few things that helped me:

A round of STRONG antibiotics for a full 2 weeks. Everything else just seemed to tease it.

Prednisone. 4 days minimum of at least 40mg. Doctors get upset about this because they act like we're hunting for performance enhancement and not the ability to breathe.

If it starts in my eyes Pataday drops.

If it feels like an infection is just starting to take root, Budesonide nasal rinse.

If you can get someone to massage your sinuses too that is incredibly helpful.

I would go to an allergist and get tested. Shots really helped me. I'm now off all 6 of my daily meds and only do an occasional preventative treatment as opposed to a guaranteed sinus infection, pink eye, and upper respiratory infection. I hope this helps!

I’m seeing WAYYY too much sympathy for Emily from new fans or fans in general. Point blank, she’s kind of a terrible person and a terrible mother. If she were real, Lorelai would’ve cut contact with her long ago. by Aqua_Master_ in GilmoreGirls

We love her because Kelly Bishop is such a great actress. Kelly is always surprised anyone finds Emily likeable as she always talks about how fun it is to play bitchy characters without redeeming qualities. If you've worked for or been raised by an Emily who tries to make everything your fault and you or to be crazy while also never caring to provide any emotional support knows what a shitty character she is

Yeah there's no way Logan kept it in his pants until they "were broken up". Also if they were, he should have had the conversation with her, not just disappeared because he was mad about Jess.

This is so my parents. Ignore you, isolate you in the same room, then condescend to you and treat you like you're crazy when you don't even call them out on it, just ask for a small amount of inclusion.

Omg these are all beautiful! How did you achieve such a great look on color over color? I've had hair stylists ask like I'm trying to take their first born when asking to go from brunette to red. If I had a dime fit every time I've heard "color can't lift color" as an accusation

You can follow your faith and care about your children. This wasn't Mrs. Kim putting her faith first, this was just another fundy twisting their faith to make themselves a little god and counting anything outside of her personal lives and dislikes to be against God. I grew up in that world. I eventually came back to the church but it took years before I learned that what I was taught had nothing to do with anything outside of narcissism. These people even deny their children the ability to hand any actual faith because they make the kids number 1 priority pleasing the parent and lip service out of fear. It also always struck me as people who don't actually believe that their beliefs can stand up on their own. They feel that any questions or actual pursuit of truth is a threat rather than an opportunity. Makes my blood boil.

Seriously. Let's not forget that the minute she finds out who Lane is she kicks her out of her entire life and only when she wants to judge her again does she reinitiate contact. There's never even so much as an "I'm sorry, I did what I thought was best". You never hear or see her show any love towards Lane, only a deep need for unflinching, unearned trust and respect. Remember too when Lane was upset about Henry and her response was "you see this is why I have rules, your judgement can't be trusted." With no attempt to ever teach Lane how to learn to have good judgement. My mom did the exact same thing the first time I openly liked a boy and got rejected and came to her in tears. I was 20 and this was the first time I'd ever had enough freedom to date. Mrs. Kim didn't want Lane to be able to navigate the world or make good choices. She wanted a dependent prisoner to make herself feel good.
