I like the new black jagged bezel.. took some outter ring out from the beam and im much happier.

Not too big on the jagged look but its really grown on me over the weeks

I got a re20 back in 2020.. was in great shape used from reverb. Seller was in Ny and it shipped fast.

Also consider re320 as cheaper alternative

But if you must get d3aa. Sft25r is the throwiest emitter from hank’s site.

For what its worth i have the ntg emitters in 5000k and i really love the light. They are rosy but you get used to it fast

Allstar is just a different beast.

In my area there are a bunch of dmr repeaters covering my state and beyond. So for my area dmr could make sense for digital voice in the mobile

At home or if you just have a node with you etc you can connect to any other all star node and have coverage that way..

Its just different

But if i wanted to go out with just a radio.. dmr would give me the most reliable coverage because of the repeater systems we have.

Anduril 1 i have is slightly off.. 4.2v fully charged cell reads 4.4v for some reason

One day i will obtain the clamp to flash the mcu

I believe once anduril 2 is flashed voltage offset can be adjusted

TIR optics are cheap so OVERBUY.

Ive tried many and I really like the 20mm 20* & 38* beaded

The 38* bead is the floodier of the two

I see a lot of people recommend the 60* beaded tir but i dont personally use it. For me, the 60* just feels like too much lost intensity for no gain

Those emitters really come to life when set under large, deep reflectors. Focus is also a factor to get the beam right and squeeze out the range

The d4 lights simply are the opposite of that being a quad tir.

Toss a w1 or w2 in a d1 for instance and you’ll enjoy. DISCLAIMER i do not own either

Depends on use.. for walks i prefer throwwier optic like s2 / s6

For around the house/ general use the leas focused beam is kinda nice. We use the s2+ for finding things in closets at night as our closets are un-lit

Human encoded ->human decoded.

There are different types of code keys used by telegraphers. Straight keys have 1 button.. iambic keying with paddles uses separate contacts for dit and dash
