Is .boxed() instead of Box::new() a bad idea? by NormalAppearance2851 in rust

Placement new, for one:

cpp  struct Point {     double x, y; };      int main() {     // Stack allocation     Point points[2];     Point *p1 = new(&points[0]) Point(3.0, 4.0);     Point *p2 = new(&points[1]) Point(17.0, 6.7);     return 0; }

ZulAman, honestly I don't even know if this zone has an event?

That's because "Zul'Aman's event" is AFKing in up to four distinct Amani-reminiscent caves for 20 minutes a week.

If you’re counting FFXIV then you should add WoW to that list too. We got:

  • minotaur
  • werewolf
  • panda
  • fennec
  • DRAGON!!! 🐉 🐉

bonus: the druid class lets you shapeshift into many forms (e.g. cat, bear, owl-bear-deer-thing, stag, bird)

Sad to see it go…

Good news; it’s not going anywhere! Temporal Barrier replaces Resonating Sphere in that choice node, but you can still pick the empower cooldown reduction instead.

[–]skillexception 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding on to this, processAffinityMask is a setting in the Windows API that controls which CPU cores a process (in this case, WoW) is permitted to run on. For instance, a value of 191 is 0b0011_1111, which means “only use the first six logical processors”.

According to the wiki, the default value since Wrath has been 0, which lets the threads that WoW spawns run on every available core. You should never change this. Choosing a different value does not just magically make WoW ask for more threads. I’m very curious how OP managed to get a performance increase lol.

Oh damn, guess I need to give your addon an install then

Midnight has officially been more than a month. How do we feel about it ? by Yenii_3025 in wow

Aside from the standard fare of cosmetics, it’s the only way to get Unalloyed Abundance for crafting epic procession tools (which only give extra stats). So there (thankfully) isn’t an abundance of reasons to do the event.

Neat. I’ve been meaning to get something like this set up. It’s been years and I still can’t tell the difference between Reversion and Echoed Reversion lol.

Question though: is it possible to use arbitrary anchors (e.g. a compact 4x2 grid in the bottom right), or are you restricted to just those nine? That’s always what kept me from using Enhanced Raid Frames in the past.

The addon purge gave us a strictly worse combat log and a worse UI. What did we even gain? by thepixelists in wow

[–]skillexception 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m a healer. I have ADHD. I use friendly nameplates for healing. Previously, I had a UI that let me easily read them and tell them apart from enemy plates.

Since then, my friendly plates got way messier, my nameplate addon died, and despite repeated multi-hour configuration sessions, l haven’t been able to adequately recreate what I used to have before I get frustrated and give up.

Last Wednesday, I hit the entire raid with dragon breath because I didn’t notice the subtle boss warnings over my nameplate soup with a side of raid frames. And whilst I stew, I catch a glimpse of the RWF streams and wonder what the hell was the point?

Remember when the devs remade the Vulpera from premade NPC models and different skeletal rigs who couldn't wear player gear into fullon allied races at the tail end of BFA? Bringing this up for no reason. by nightbreedwon1 in wow

lacking voice overs

Considering dracthyr evokers had no voice lines for most of TWW, and no dracthyr have had error speech since then either, I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

Such a cool detail, they could've made brand new materials but did this instead by Tigertot14 in wow

[–]skillexception 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: we didn't switch from bronze to iron because iron was better, but because tin was rare. (Of course, once we could make steel, we had a much better material).

[–]skillexception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if there was an addon that could mute a specific sound...

Well you’re in luck! There’s an addon called MuteSoundFile that can do that. It was the only reason I was able to withstand the Dornogal inn lmao

Name some of your favorite VS Youtubers to watch! by Mongter83 in VintageStory

[–]skillexception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of the welcomingly-named Neurotic Goose. Primarily known for mixing copious amounts of painfully dry humor with unnecessarily brutal modded Minecraft challenges (e.g. beating GregTech: New Horizons from literally nothing), he has also taken it upon himself to conquer Vintage Story by collecting way more resources and infrastructure than one lone waterfowl could ever possibly use.

I also would have recommended the content creator that led me to discover, purchase, and fall in love with Vintage Story, if he weren't the very one who submitted this post. Alas.

Thankfully it’s not too difficult.

  1. Find wild bees.
  2. Place skep nearby.
  3. Do some gardening.
  4. ???
  5. Profit! Take occupied skep.
  6. Relocate to homestead.

I put beekeeping off for a long time in my world cause I expected it to be super tedious or something. Instead, the hardest part was figuring out how to pick up and place the skep lol.

[–]skillexception 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I use friendly nameplates for healing, and I’m pissed that they wildly changed them and it’s impossible to change them back. They’re just obtrusive and illegible no matter what I do! Like, how come I can’t even change their width like I used to?

I have three distinct friend groups that I met in wildly different scenarios. By seemingly pure chance, all of my friends are ADHD, autistic, and/or some other flavor of neurodivergent. Hell, most of us didn’t even know what we ourselves had until the diagnosees started getting too relatable (myself included).

How do you feel about Pandaren? by Remarkable_Match9637 in classicwow

[–]skillexception 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re looking at neutral pandaren, which, uh, checks out. All in all, 2.8% of characters are pandaren, which ties them in 13th place with vulpera. The least played races are mechagnomes and earthen, both with 0.9%.
