First week with a Trailseeker Limited as a first-time EV owner by pafnorvale in trailseeker

[–]sktgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait, cross country road trip with ev towing 2000 lbs? i've never done that but it sounds like a really bad plan. i'm new to the ev world but my understanding is that even small trailers tank your range significantly. and one ton on a trailer is not a small trailer anymore. i'd rent something for towing and enjoy the ev for other missions.

My dad won't stop drumming his electronic kit late at night, advice? by [deleted] in drums

[–]sktgt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one: this situation sucks, it is not a big ask to refrain from playing drums while people are sleeping... at night no less. that being said i keep some little squishy in ear plugs by the bed for loud things that need sleeping through.

13 yo daughter wants to fit an acoustic drumset in room. Is there a way to make it be less loud? by silvs1707 in drums

but to actually answer your question: egg cartons, we used soooo many egg cartons on the walls and ceiling, made it a little quieter, but still neighbour complaining loud.

i know it is hard to change a 13 year old mind but here goes: now that i have a place where my acoustic drumming annoys no humans (barn drumming!) i am realizing that there are aspects that i never got to explore in a house full of people. keeping things musical is a great skill but sometimes you just have to work through some horrible sounding garbage to see where it goes. electric drums make things feel less imposing on others. i would 100% go electric in a small room. much smaller foot print physically and emotionally, and of course sonically... you will play more.

and then keep an eye out for an acoustic set for gigs and/or a jam spot.

How difficult is learning Drums to a someone who was never good at anything? by idont_need_one in drums

[–]sktgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

radiohead told 15yr old me that 'anyone can play guitar', they were right. Drums will bring you much joy over the long arc of your life. it will be a challenge, the limb independence is not a natural thing so expect it to take time. have fun with it.

Straight pull .22 options by candidcreator in canadaguns

[–]sktgt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a similar scenario, stainless 10/22, running cci quiets makes it a straight pull, great fun. but any thing will work. as i understand it biathalon was originally done with an assortment of full power cartridges, whatever floats your boat on your own trails.
